LTT HAS CONFLICT WITH AN SMA IN VICINITY OF PDZ.
Narrative
IN CRUISE AT 8000 FT WHEN MY FO SAYS 'LOOK AT THAT;' I SAW AN ACFT IN A SLIGHT BANK TO THE S; COULD NOT TELL WHETHER ACFT WAS OPPOSITE OR SAME DIRECTION AT FIRST. I DISCONNECTED THE AUTOPLT; IN CASE ACTION WAS REQUIRED; AND THEN I COULD TELL THAT THE ACFT WAS OPPOSITE DIRECTION AND EXACTLY OUR ALT ON A CONVERGING COURSE IN A R BANK (SHALLOW). THE ACFT'S BANK ANGLE APPEARED NOT ENOUGH SO I BANKED R ABRUPTLY TO A 30 DEG ANGLE AND CLBED 100 FT. THE ONT CTLR HAD NOT HEARD OUR CHKIN AND HAD STARTED CALLING US ASKING US TO DSND; BUT BY THAT TIME THE SMA WAS PAST US; APPROX 500-1000 FT HORIZLY. THE CTLR SAID THAT THE SMA WASN'T TALKING TO ANYONE AND THAT NO N- NUMBER WAS AVAILABLE. THE PDZ VOR/DME IS A HIGH DENSITY TFC AREA WITH ENRTE CARRIER TFC AND DEPS OFF ONT CROSS THE FIX. I PERSONALLY WOULD LIKE TO SEE INBOUND ACFT TO LAX FROM PSP; CA; KEPT HIGHER DUE TO THE HIGH NUMBER OF GA ACFT OVER THIS FIX; BOTH ENRTE AND INSTRUCTION ACFT. THIS IS THE SECOND TIME THAT I'VE TAKEN EVASIVE OVER PDZ. WE'RE ENRTE FROM PSP TO LAX AND YES; THE PAX DID NOTICE ALL OF THEM.
