MLG LOST R HYD SYS AFTER TKOF ATL; CONTINUED TO DTW.

Narrative

ON CLBOUT; DURING LNDG GEAR UP LATCH CHK; THE R HYD QUANTITY DROPPED TO '0' QUART QUANTITY. R HYD PRESSURE LOW LIGHT SOON FOLLOWED. COCKPIT OPERATING MANUAL PROCS FOR HYD PRESSURE LOW WERE COMPLIED WITH. DISPATCH AND MAINT CTL WERE INFORMED OF MECHANICAL STATUS. IN CONSIDERATION OF REMAINING HEALTHY HYD SYS; WX AND DISTANCE FROM ATL AND TO DTW; I ELECTED TO CONTINUE TO DETROIT. IN PREPARATION FOR LNDG AND FOLLOWING COMPANY OPS MANUAL PROCS FOR EXISTING HYD PROB; LNDG GEAR COULD NOT BE LOWERED BY NORMAL MEANS. EMER GEAR EXTENSION PROCS AS PER THE COMPANY OPS MANUAL WERE USED AND THE LNDG GEAR EXTENDED AND LOCKED NORMALLY. THE LNDG WAS; IN ALL OTHER RESPECTS; NORMAL. AFTER CLRING THE RWY AT THE HIGHSPD EXIT THE ACFT WAS INSPECTED BY ARPT EMER PERSONNEL AND MAINT PERSONNEL. THE LNDG GEAR DOORS WERE SECURED AND THE GEAR SAFETY PINS INSTALLED. THE ACFT WAS TOWED TO GATE AND THE PAX DEPLANED NORMALLY. THROUGHOUT THE FLT; DISPATCH AND MAINT CTL WERE KEPT INFORMED. THE PAX WERE ALSO THOROUGHLY BRIEFED BY MYSELF. AT THIS TIME I HAVE NO KNOWLEDGE OF ANY NEGATIVE COMMENTS BY PAX.
