AN ACR WDB SLID OFF THE SIDE OF AN ICY TXWY.

Narrative

BRIEFED ILS APCH RWY 23 AS PER SOP'S. LNDG UNEVENTFUL WITH TOUCHDOWN 1000-1200 FT POINT; BRAKING ACTION GOOD. DECELERATED TO SLOW TAXI SPD AT WHICH TIME TWR ADVISED US TO USE NEXT LINK FOR RWY EXIT. WHILE EXITING AT LINK 5 AND COMPLETING THE TURN ON CTRLINE; I ENCOUNTERED NIL BRAKING WITH ACFT SLOWLY MOVING LATERALLY OFF R EDGE OF TXWY. WE STOPPED VERY GENTLY WITH NOSE SLIGHTLY R OF TXWY SIDELINE. NOTIFIED TWR THAT ACFT IMMOBILE AND A TOW WOULD BE NECESSARY. SEVERAL ITEMS WORTH NOTING: 1) SPRAY TRUCK DEICED LINK 5 IN ORDER FOR MEN AND EQUIP TO WORK IN SAFETY. 2) ACR STATION MGR ADVISED ME THAT; BECAUSE OF NUMEROUS RAMP INCIDENTS; THE ARPT AUTH PLANNED TO RETURN TO THE USE OF VREA INSTEAD OF PRESENT FLUID. IN THIS SIT; WE WERE FIRST ACFT TO LAND; NO FIELD CONDITION PROVIDED AND NO TXWYS WERE DEICED. SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION FROM ACN 260071: BRIEFED ILS APCH RWY 23; INCLUDING USING L-7 FOR EXITING RWY. BEFORE THE MEN AND EQUIP WERE ABLE TO REACH THE ACFT; IT WAS NECESSARY FOR THEM TO DEICE L-5. IT TOOK 4 HRS TO MOVE THE ACFT BACK ONTO TXWY. TEMP WAS 1 DEG C. IT HAD RAINED EARLIER AND WAS RPTED WET RWY. PERHAPS ICE SHOULD HAVE BEEN SUSPECTED. ALSO; PERHAPS WE SHOULD HAVE QUESTIONED EXITING L-5 BUT WE DID NOT.
