MR. X; OWNER PLT; WAS FLYING BEECH BARON. MR. Y; AN INSTRUCTOR; WAS IN R FRONT SEAT. PLT WAS FLYING WELL ON A TRAINING FLT (IFR) WHICH INCLUDED EMER PROCS. BEECH BARON WAS ON 12 MI FINAL AND ANNOUNCED TO ORLANDO EXECUTIVE TWR THAT IT INTENDED TO LAND STRAIGHT IN ON RWY 25 (VOR DME 25) WITH A SIMULATED EMER; R ENG WAS FEATHERED. WAS CLRED TO LAND. OWNER PLT PER TRAINING PROC LOWERED LNDG GEAR. LNDG GEAR DOWN LOCK LIGHTS DID NOT COME ON. AT APPROX MISSED APCH POINT AT MDA; ABOUT 500 FT; WE ANNOUNCED A MISSED APCH. L OPERATING ENG WAS ADVANCED TO TKOF PWR. ACFT WAS MAINTAINED AT VYSE BLUE LINE INDICATED AIRSPD. WE INITIALLY FAILED TO CLB; IN FACT; LOST A COUPLE HUNDRED FT ALT WHEN MAINTAINING PROPER AIRSPD CTL. WITH LNDG GEAR EXTENDED AND R ENG FEATHERED; ACFT WAS NOT CLBING. ACFT WAS FLOWN UNDER CTL TO APPROX 200 FT AGL 1/2 MI BEYOND DEP END OF RWY 25. DECISION WAS MADE TO START R ENG AND CLB OUT USING BOTH ENGS AT TKOF PWR. GEAR WAS NOT IMMEDIATELY RETRACTED BECAUSE OF MANUAL EXTENSION. UNABLE TO MOVE LNDG GEAR FROM DOWN (UNLOCKED) POS. DID NOT KNOW STATUS OF LNDG MECHANISM. R ENG UNFEATHERING ACCUMULATOR DID NOT WORK. (FEATHERED ENG PROC WITH UNFEATHERING ACCUMULATOR WAS TESTED SATISFACTORILY AT ALT OF 5000 FT FIRST). STARTED R ENG USING STARTER. R ENG OPERATED NORMALLY AND WITH BOTH ENGS OPERATING; FLEW TO SAFE ALT; DEPARTED PATTERN. TESTED SYS (LNDG GEAR) ALL NORMAL. CLRED TO LAND; NORMAL SAFE LNDG. EMER CRASH CREWS WERE NOT CALLED FOR LNDG SINCE ALL SYS NORMAL AT LNDG.
