Narrative
DURING LEVEL CRUISE FLT ON PART 91 BUSINESS FLT HAD SUSPECTED BIRD STRIKE TO L ENG PROP/SPINNER. RPTED A 'BIRD STRIKE' TO ZME. IMMEDIATELY NOTICED VIBRATION IN L ENG. REDUCED PWR TO #1 (L) ENG. NOTIFIED CTR THAT I SUSPECTED POSSIBLY PROP BLADE SEPARATION. AS PRECAUTION; FEATHERED AND SECURED L ENG. AS ENG PROP FEATHERED; I NOTICED A LARGE PORTION (APPROX 40 PERCENT) OF L ENG PROP SPINNER WAS MISSING. ALSO BECAME AWARE OF DAMAGE TO NOSE (L SIDE) OF ACFT. ACFT DISPLAYED VIBRATION AND EXCESSIVE WIND NOISE. EXPLAINED TO ZME/LITTLE ROCK APCH CTL THAT AS I WAS UNSURE AS TO THE EXTENT OF DAMAGE THAT I WOULD MAKE A PRECAUTIONARY LNDG AT CONWAY; AR; (M03). SINCE I HAD 3 PAX; TOTAL OF 4 PEOPLE ON BOARD AND APPROX 900 LBS OF FUEL; I REQUESTED TO LITTLE ROCK APCH CTL CALL CONWAY; AR; ARPT TO HAVE EMER EQUIP AVAILABLE. AFTER BRIEFING PAX TO THE SIT; INCLUDING BRIEFING ON EMER LNDG PROCS; WE MADE AN UNEVENTFUL LNDG AT CONWAY; AR; ARPT. I AM EXTREMELY GRATEFUL TO ZME AND LITTLE ROCK; AR; APCH CTL PERSONNEL FOR THEIR PROFESSIONAL AND HELPFUL MANNER IN SIT.
