FO OF LTT OVERSHOT HOLDING FIX AND WAS GIVEN VECTORS BY ATC BACK TO THE HOLDING FIX.

Narrative

DUE TO ARR DELAYS ENRTE TO BOS ARPT WE WERE INSTRUCTED TO HOLD AT ORW VOR TO THE SW AS PUBLISHED AT 9000 FT. THE CAPT WAS HANDLING COMS AND THEN LOOKED UP THE CORRECT INBOUND RADIAL AND TOLD IT TO ME. NORMALLY WE ARE GIVEN HOLDING FIX AT WOONS INTXN NE ALONG THE AIRWAY TO BOS AND IT HAS BECOME ROUTINE TO EXPECT HOLDING AT WOONS. HAVING NEVER BEEN ISSUED A HOLDING CLRNC AT ORW I FAILED TO REALIZE THAT WHAT I WAS EXPECTED TO DO WAS DIFFERENT. THE FACT THAT THE INBOUND COURSE AT WOONS IS ONLY 1 DEG DIFFERENT THAN THAT AT ORW MAY HAVE BEEN A CONTRIBUTING FACTOR TO MY CONFUSION. UPON REACHING ORW I CONTINUED ALONG THE AIRWAY TO WOONS FOR 7 MI BEFORE THE CAPT REALIZED I MISSED THE TURN. I IMMEDIATELY ENTERED A L TURN WHEN ATC ALSO NOTICED I WAS OFF COURSE. ATC PROVIDED VECTORS AND WE WERE BACK WHERE WE WERE SUPPOSED TO BE WITHOUT INCIDENT. I BELIEVE THE PROB COULD HAVE BEEN AVOIDED WITH BETTER COCKPIT COM AND ALSO WITH EMPHASIS FROM ATC WHEN A CLRNC ISSUED IS UNUSUAL OR NEW TO PLTS WHO MAY REGULARLY FLY THE SAME RTE AND MAY BECOME COMPLACENT.
