B747 OPERATED WITH DEFERRED MAINT DISCREPANCIES THAT WERE NOT ALLOWED TO BE DEFERRED TOGETHER.

Narrative

747-STD FROM SFO THROUGH ORD TO IAD. INBOUND FLT WROTE UP AUTO BRAKE INOP; AUTO SPOILER INOP; CIRCUIT BREAKER SET NO HELP AND #3 GENERATOR TRIPPED OFF LINE ON LNDG OPERATIONAL LINE REQUIREMENTS WERE SENT IN ERROR STATING THE ONLY WRITE-UP WAS ANTI SKID INOP. CHANGED ANTI SKID WRITE-UP TO CORRECT AUTO BRAKE WRITE-UP IN COMPUTER. ACFT ARRIVED AT XA15 AND WAS DUG OUT AT XA35. I MADE THE DECISION TO DEFER THESE ITEMS IF LEGAL PER MEL DUE TO TURN AROUND TIME AND THE FACT I WAS THE ONLY GATE MECH WORKING THE TRIP. I MISREAD THE MEL STATING THE AUTO BRAKE CAN'T BE DEFERRED ALONG WITH THE AUTO SPOILERS. I READ IT AS ANTI SKID ONLY; NOT ANTI SKID/AUTO BRAKE. I DEFERRED AUTO SPOILERS; DID FULL MEL TEXT; AND CHK AND THEN ALSO DEFERRED THE AUTO BRAKE SYS ALSO DOING THE MEL TEXT. ACFT DEPARTED ORD TO IAD. IAD MAINT CAUGHT THE MISTAKE AND CLRED THE DEFERRED AUTO SPOILERS INOP BY DOING AN OPERATIONAL CHK PER MAINT MANUAL. ACFT DEPARTED IAD LEGALLY. I HAVE BEEN AN A&P MECH FOR 27 YRS; WORKING FOR ACR Y AIRLINES FROM 1967-1983; (ACR Z AIRLINES FROM JAN/84-APR/84; AND ACR X FROM APR 84 TO PRESENT; AND TO MY KNOWLEDGE THIS IS MY FIRST OFFENSE OF IMPROPER MAINT PROCS. I REALIZE THAT MY HURRYING TO GET AN ACFT OUT ON TIME VIOLATED MEL PROCS.
