UNAUTH PENETRATION OF CLASS B AIRSPACE.

Narrative

CLASS B AIRSPACE DISAGREEMENT! WHILE TRACKING THE 060 RADIAL OFF OF TALLADEGA; AL; AND 35 DME W OF ATLANTA: WORKING ZTL FOR FLT FOLLOWING ALL THE WAY FROM TALLADEGA; AL; TO GREENVILLE; SC; AND ON A CTR XPONDER SQUAWK; ZTL TERMINATED MY SVC. ZTL SAID REMAIN CLR OF CLASS B AIRSPACE. IMMEDIATELY; I CONTACTED ATLANTA APCH AND WAS TOLD TO TURN 20 DEGS L AND REMAIN CLR OF CLASS B AIRSPACE. WHEN I ASKED WHY. ATLANTA APCH SAID I WAS ALREADY IN CLASS B AIRSPACE; THEN I DISAGREED. I STATED THAT ACCORDING L 13 AND 14; 19 AND 20 CHARTS THAT THE TALLADEGA 060 RADIAL AND 35 DME W OF ATLANTA WAS OUTSIDE OF CLASS B AIRSPACE AND IF THIS IS INCORRECT THAT THE L 13 AND 14; 19 AND 20 CHARTS NEED TO BE CHANGED. ATLANTA APCH AGREED. RECOMMENDATIONS: IF L 13 AND 14; 19 AND 20 LOW ALT CHARTS ARE INCORRECT; THEY NEED TO BE CHANGED IN ORDER TO PREVENT CLASS B CONFLICTS. ALSO; WHENEVER FULL RTE FLT FOLLOWING IS IN USE; ESPECIALLY NEAR CLASS B AIRSPACE; SVC SHOULD NOT BE TERMINATED! AND IF THE L 13 AND 14; 19 AND 20 LOW ALT CHARTS ARE INCORRECT; THEN ZTL SHOULD NOT HAVE ALLOWED ME INTO CLASS B AIRSPACE; TERMINATED SVC; AND THEN ASK THAT I REMAIN CLR OF CLASS B AIRSPACE. CALLBACK CONVERSATION WITH RPTR REVEALED THE FOLLOWING INFO: RPTR STATES HE WAS ON CTRLINE OF 060 RADIAL AND TUNED INTO ATL DME WHEN TOLD HE WAS WITHIN THE CLASS B AIRSPACE. CTLR STATED 33 DME AND RPTR SHOWED 35 DME. ANALYST POINTED OUT THAT CLASS B BOUNDARY IS 35 MI. RPTR AGREED; BUT FELT THAT SINCE HE WAS ON FLT FOLLOWING AND NO MENTION WAS MADE OF ANY CLASS B PENETRATION UNTIL HE WAS DUMPED FROM RADAR SVC; ATC SHOULD HAVE INFORMED HIM PREVIOUS TO TERMINATING RADAR SVC. RPTR HAD QUITE A CONVERSATION WITH THE NEXT CTLR WHO VECTORED HIM OUT OF THE AIRSPACE AND WHO ACKNOWLEDGED THAT ATC SOMETIMES GETS BUSY AND JUST DROPS THE SVC. SINCE THIS WAS IN A BUSY ARR CORRIDOR; RPTR WAS ALL THE MORE ASTONISHED TO BE TERMINATED. HE FELT HE SHOULD HAVE BEEN GIVEN SOME WARNING OF RADAR SVC TERMINATING.
