ATC COORD INFO TRANSFER X HAD CONFLICT WITH ACR Y.
Narrative
I WAS WORKING SARASOTA RADAR N; S; AND MCDILL RADAR COMBINED POS. I WAS USING COORDINATED INFO TRANSFER PROCS AS PER TAMPA APCH SOP. I WAS WORKING A VFR CHEROKEE X AT 2600 FT NWBOUND; AND FLASHED THE ACFT TO SRQ TWR. SRQ TWR FLASHED THE ACFT BACK TO ME; SO I RETAINED CTL THROUGH THEIR DEP CORRIDOR. WHEN THE CHEROKEE WAS APCHING THE DEP FLT PATH; I OBSERVED A RADAR TARGET CLBING OFF RWY 32 WBOUND; CONVERGING WITH THE CHEROKEE. I IMMEDIATELY CALLED SARASOTA TWR ON THE LANDLINE AND SAID IN THE BLIND TO STOP THE DEP ACR Y AT 1600 FT. THERE WAS NO ANSWER; SO I CALLED AGAIN TO ASK IF THEY HAD COMPLIED WITH THE INSTRUCTIONS; AND RECEIVED AN UNINTELLIGIBLE ANSWER. I ISSUED TFC TO THE CHEROKEE; THEN WENT BACK TO THE LANDLINE TO TELL SRQ TWR TO TURN THE MD80 NBOUND FOR COURSE DIVERGENCE; AND SRQ TOLD ME THAT THE MD80 HAD BEEN SWITCHED ALREADY. BY NOW THE MD80 WAS CLBING THROUGH 2000 FT TO 3000 FT; AND CALLED ME. I IMMEDIATELY TURNED THE MD80 NBOUND FOR COURSE DIVERGENCE. THE MD80 NEVER RPTED HAVING THE CHEROKEE IN SIGHT. I RECOMMEND THAT COORDINATED INFO TRANSFER PROCS BE CANCELED WITH SRQ TWR; OR AT LEAST SUSPENDED UNTIL PROCS CAN BE RETRIEVED.
