Narrative
MIA ARPT IS IN A REMODEL MODE -- VARIOUS TXWYS BLOCKED; UNLIGHTED AND/OR UNMARKED. ACR Y LEAVING GATE X S SIDE CONCOURSE TO TAXI TO RWY 9L -- INSTRUCTIONS TO USE TXWY Q. ASIDE. LAST WK SAME SCENARIO. STOPPED SHORT OF RWY 12- 30 AFTER A CALL FROM GND CTLR -- CLOSE; BUT NO INCURSION; ARMED WITH THIS RECENT EXPERIENCE I ADVISED SIC TO MONITOR OUR PROGRESS AND NAV AS TO KEEP US CLR. HOWEVER; Q5 AND INNER IS BARRICADED. 'Q' IS UNLIGHTED IN THIS AREA (NO CTR OR EDGE LIGHTS) AND TXWY 'S' HAS GREEN CTRLINE. I FOLLOWED THESE WITH THE INTENTION OF STEERING 300 DEGS ON THE DIRECTIONAL GYROSCOPE; BUT PROCEEDED TOO FAR. GND CTL CALLED; WE STOPPED; DISCUSSION: DELTA EXITED RWY 12/30. THEN ACR Y -- WE WERE GIVEN INSTRUCTIONS TO TAXI VIA 'S' TO RWY 9R. SEVERAL DETOURS BECAUSE OF BARRICADES AND UNLIGHTED PORTIONS. GND CTL ADVISED HE WAS 'OK!' (IF WE WERE --_ WE REVIEWED THE SIT AND I HAVE NO CONFIDENCE THAT I WOULDN'T FALL INTO THIS SAME TRAP AGAIN. GND CTL EVIDENTLY SEES THIS TYPE INCIDENT ENOUGH TO BE AWARE OF THE POTENTIAL TO MISS THE Q TXWY AND WANDER. NEED SOME KIND OF HWY REFLECTIVE TARGETS TO MAKE RTES RECOGNIZABLE DURING THIS MASSIVE PROJECT OR EVEN FLASHES. BOAT PEOPLE WITH FLASHLIGHTS. ANYTHING WOULD HELP.
