Narrative
DISTR: WT AND BAL PROB. ACFT TOO HVY TO ACCOMMODATE ALL PAX AND ALL BAGS AND REQUIRED FUEL. VIGOROUS DEBATE AMONGST LOADMASTER; GATE AGENTS; RAMP SUPVRS; AND DISPATCH ENSURED AS TO SOLUTION. PREFLT DISTRS RESULTED IN PF DISPLAYING EAGUL 2 DEP (WRONG) AND PNF DISPLAYING ST JOHNS 1 DEP (CORRECT). BOTH SIDS BEGIN WITH THE SAME PROC WHICH WAS ACCOMPLISHED SUCCESSFULLY TO HDG 020 DEGS. WE THEN PROCEEDED THROUGH THE PKR 054 DEG RADIAL (CORRECT) INTENT ON INTERCEPTING THE PXR 034 DEG RADIAL (INCORRECT) AND WERE QUERIED BY PHX DEP AS TO WHICH DEP WE WERE FLYING. AS THE PNF READ BACK THE 'CORRECT' SID WE REALIZED WE WERE THROUGH THE 054 DEG RADIAL AND TURNED R TO INTERCEPT AT WHICH TIME DEP ALSO ISSUED A VECTOR (R TURN) TO INTERCEPT. WE WERE SUBSEQUENTLY CLRED DIRECT TO ST JOHNS ANYWAY. NO CONFLICT OR LOSS OF SEPARATION WAS RPTED OR NOTED. THE LESSON HERE IS TO TAKE STRONG NOTE OF HOW A DISTR DURING NORMAL PREFLT PROCS CAN PRODUCE A SUBSEQUENT MISTAKE. WE ALL KNOW THIS; HOWEVER; CONSTANT VIGILANCE IS IMPERATIVE.
