INSTRUCTOR WITH ATP STUDENT HAS 2 GREEN ON GEAR EXTENSION BUT NOTHING FOR L GEAR. REQUEST CFR EQUIP.
Narrative
THE FLT WAS FOR TRAINING OF AN ATP APPLICANT. IN THE PRACTICE AREA WE PERFORMED MINIMUM CTLABLE AIRSPD MANEUVER (MCA). DURING THE MANEUVER WE SELECTED GEAR DOWN AND RECEIVED A GREEN FOR THE NOSE AND R GEAR BUT NOTHING FOR THE L GEAR. WE TESTED THE BULB AND IT WAS FINE. WE RECYCLED THE GEAR 2 OR 3 TIMES. NOTHING FOR THE L GEAR BUT NORMAL FOR THE NOSE AND R. ON THE 4TH ATTEMPT THE LIGHT CAME ON; THEN OFF; THEN ON -- IT WAS FLICKERING. WE CHKED THE EMER CHKLIST TO SEE WHAT WE COULD DO. THERE WAS NOTHING LISTED FOR THIS KIND OF PROB. WE THEN RETURNED TO THE ARPT FOR A FLY-BY AND THE TWR SAID THE L GEAR APPEARED DOWN. WE ASKED FOR THE EQUIP TO BE BROUGHT OUT AND LANDED SUCCESSFULLY. WE PULLED OFF THE RWY; SHUT DOWN AND ASKED FOR A TOW IN TO THE RAMP. AT THIS TIME IT APPEARS TO HAVE BEEN A MICRO SWITCH PROB IN THE WHEEL WELL. THE ACFT TYPE WAS A BE-76. HANDLING OF OUR FLT BY THE TWR WAS EXCELLENT; WE RECEIVED ALL THAT WE ASKED FOR. WE DID NOT EMER EXTEND THE GEAR BECAUSE WE WERE NOT SURE IF THAT WOULD COMPLICATE PROBS WITH THE 2 GOOD GREENS. WE HAD FELT THAT ALL THE TIME IT WAS ELECTRICAL PROB/MICRO SWITCH PROB. IT WOULD BE NICE IF BEECHCRAFT WOULD INDICATE SOME SORT OF CHKLIST FOR THIS KIND OF PROB.
