Narrative
THIS INCIDENT OCCURRED AFTER LNDG AND WHILE TAXIING TO THE RAMP AFTER AN IFR FLT FROM BNA TO SFB. WX WAS NOT A FACTOR AS IT WAS CLR AND AT LEAST 10 MI VISIBILITY. I WAS FLYING A LEAR 25D; AND AFTER LNDG ON RWY 27R I ROLLED TO THE END BEFORE CLRING THE RWY. THE OTHER PLT; WHO HAPPENS TO BE CHIEF PLT FOR THE COMPANY; CONTACTED GND CTL AND INFORMED THEM THAT WE WERE UNFAMILIAR AND NEEDED A STEER TO THE GA RAMP. BECAUSE OF THIS REQUEST; NEITHER OF US REFERRED TO THE COMMERCIAL TAXI CHART. APCHING RWY 9R WHILE ON TXWY C; GND CTL TOLD US TO 'MAKE THE NEXT L TURN.' UNFORTUNATELY; THIS WAS THE WRONG L TURN; AS SHOWN BY THE DIAGRAM. UPON TURNING ONTO RWY 9R WE SAW THAT THERE WAS A SINGLE ENG CESSNA TAKING OFF AND ANOTHER CESSNA ON SHORT FINAL. I IMMEDIATELY TAXIED TO THE R (S) SIDE OF RWY 9R. THE CESSNA TAKING OFF CONTINUED HIS TKOF AND WAS WELL CLR WHEN HE WENT OVER US. THE CESSNA ON SHORT FINAL WENT AROUND. GND INSTRUCTED US TO MAKE A 180 AND TAXI CLR. LOOKING AT THE TAXI CHART NOW; I SEE THAT WE WERE NEVER ACTUALLY ON THE RWY; BUT IT GOT OUR ATTN. THIS INCIDENT OCCURRED BECAUSE WE DEPENDED ON GND CTL TO GET US TO THE RAMP AND DID NOT MONITOR OUR POS ON THE ARPT. AT THE CTLR'S LOCATION; IT WAS PROBABLY DIFFICULT FOR HIM TO SEE WHICH INTXN WE WERE ACTUALLY APCHING. 'MAKE THE NEXT L TURN' IS SOMEWHAT CONFUSING; DO WE MAKE THIS APCHING L TURN; OR THE NEXT L TURN AFTER THIS ONE.
