Narrative

DURING TAXI OUT FOR TKOF ON RWY 9; I TURNED INTO TXWY A BYPASS W TXWY B. THE TWR SAID TO CONTINUE DOWN RWY; BUT WE WERE ENTERING THE TXWY AND IT WAS TOO LATE TO STOP AND SAFELY TURN BACK ONTO RWY. THE TAXI CLRNC WAS BACK TAXI RWY 9. AN ACR Y 757 DEPARTED JUST PRIOR TO US. HE WAS DOING A TAXI CLRNC OF 'BACK TAXI RWY 9.' JUST BEFORE FLT ACR Y PASSED THE TXWY; THE TWR INSTRUCTED HIM TO TURN R OFF THE RWY AND USE TXWY A/B. THE PREVIOUS ACR Y DEP WAS ALSO A 757 AND WE OBSERVED THEIR TAXI VIA TXWY A/B TO RWY 9. THE PROB ARISES THAT I DIDN'T REALIZE/REMEMBER UNTIL THE NEXT DAY; WHILE DEADHEADING TO HOME BASE; THAT WE TAXIED ON A TXWY NOT STRESSED FOR WDB ACFT. I REFERRED BACK TO OUR OPS PAGES ISSUED; AND IN THE GENERAL SECTION THE NOTES ON RWY RESTRS AND TXWY RESTRS. 'TXWY A-B NOT STRESSED FOR WDB ACFT.' OUR ACFT; AN A-300/600R; WAS OPERATING AT 305000 LBS FOR THAT TKOF; SOME 80000-100000 LBS HEAVIER THAN THE 757'S THAT PRECEDED US. I REVIEWED THE NOTES PRIOR TO LNDG; AND 2 HRS LATER FOR DEP READ ONLY DEP NOTES AND SPECIAL DEP PROC PAGE FOR THE A-300 OUT OF ST MAARTEN. NEITHER SECTION MADE ANY MENTION TO THE TXWY RESTRS. MY RECOMMENDATION TO OUR COMPANY IS TO LIMIT GENERAL NOTES TO COMPANY FREQ; SPECIAL CUSTOMS INSTRUCTIONS; ARPT PROCS; SECURITY; ETC; SPECIFIES TO LNDG AND DEPARTING UNDER THOSE SECTIONS AND PAGES. THE ST MAARTEN ARPT SHOULD HAVE A SIGN UP FOR A FRIENDLY REMINDER NEXT TO TXWY A/B ENTRANCES -- 'NO WDB TAXI' TO PREVENT FURTHER INCIDENTS.
