Narrative
MISSED POS RPT AT LEARS DUE TO RERTE LEARS NOT ON FLT PLAN. CAPT DISTR BY REPAIRING LOOSE KNOB AND FO NEW TO RTE. CALLBACK CONVERSATION WITH RPTR REVEALED THE FOLLOWING INFO: THE RPTR IS FLYING AS CAPT ON THE B-767- 300ER ON INTL RTES. ALL OF HIS TRIPS TO EUROPE REQUIRE 2 FO'S; 1 AS RELIEF. THE RELIEF FO WAS IN THE CABIN AT THE TIME OF THE INCIDENT. THERE ARE 2 RPTING POINTS ABOUT 40 MI APART APCHING BDA. THE CAPT STEPPED OUT TO THE ASTRO POTTY AFTER THE FIRST RPTING POINT. WHEN HE RETURNED; HE ASKED THE FO IF HE HAD RPTED THE SECOND ONE. THE FO STATED THAT HE THOUGHT THAT HE HAD. THE CAPT ADMITS THAT 'I WAS NOT REALLY WATCHING THE STORE AS I SHOULD HAVE BEEN.' SUPPLEMENTAL INFO FROM ACN 295990: AT DERNO; WE CONTACTED BDA AND WERE IN RADAR CONTACT. AFTER ABOUT 60 NM; NEW YORK RADIO SELCAL'ED US ASKING OUR POS. THEY WANTED TO KNOW OUR TIME OVER LEARS; BUT UNFORTUNATELY; THE FMC DUMPED THOSE POINTS AND WE HAD NO PAPER WORK FOR THAT PORTION OF THE FLT. WE TOLD THEM WHATEVER WE ESTIMATED WAS WHEN WE WERE THERE. WE HAD NO HARD COPY TO LATER VERIFY XING THE FIX. THIS WAS MY LEG TO TALK ON THE RADIOS. WITH 2 PEOPLE TALKING ON THE RADIO; SOME CONFUSION MAY EXIST IN WHO MADE THE LAST POS RPT. CALLBACK CONVERSATION WITH RPTR REVEALED THE FOLLOWING INFO: THERE WERE NO CONFLICTS OR OTHER ACFT IN THE AREA. THE RPTR HAS HEARD NOTHING FROM THE FAA ABOUT THIS. THE RPTR BELIEVES THAT THE CAPT WAS NOT TOO CONCERNED ABOUT THE INCIDENT.
