Narrative
MY DUTY STARTED XT40 LCL TIME ON FEB/XX/95. WHEN I PICKED UP ADDITIONAL SCHEDULE I INTERPRETED THE 24 HRS REST IN 7 CONSECUTIVE DAYS (135.265(D)) AS 7 CONSECUTIVE DAYS (NOT 7 CALENDAR DAYS). THUS I ONLY HAD TO HAVE 24 HRS REST BEFORE SATURDAY XT40 LCL TIME. CREW SCHEDULE ACCEPTED MY APPLICATION AND I FLEW AS PER SCHEDULE UNTIL FRIDAY X005 HRS. AS THE FLT DELAYED AND I HAD TO HAVE 24 HRS REST I CALLED COMPANY SCHEDULER BUT FOUND THAT THEY INTERPRET THE 7 DAYS AS 7 CALENDAR DAYS INSTEAD OF 7 CONSECUTIVE DAYS AS SHOWN ON FAR. I ARGUED THE POINT WITHOUT ANY CHANGE. I ACCEPTED SCHEDULE CHANGES THINKING THAT 7 CONSECUTIVE DAYS ARE NOT 7 CALENDAR DAYS. IF THE COMPANY'S SCHEDULER IS RIGHT; I WOULD EXCEED DUTY DAYS AS I FLEW 7 DAYS EVERYDAY WITHOUT 24 HRS REST. HOWEVER; I STILL THINK MY RULE INTERP IS RIGHT; IE; MY 7 DAYS ENDS AT XT40 HRS AFTER 7 DAYS; AND I HAD 24 CONSECUTIVE HRS BEFORE THE 7 DAY EXPIRES. THE CREW SCHEDULER OVERLOOKED MY APPLICATION AND APPROVED THE ADDITIONAL FLT PICK UP MISCALCULATING THE REST PERIOD. IF THEIR INTERP IS RIGHT; THEY SHOULD NOT APPROVE THE SCHEDULE IN THE FIRST PLACE. I WILL BE VERY CONSERVATIVE FOR NEXT TIME.
