FAR - FLT TIME DUTY TIME VIOLATION.
Narrative
ON FEB/SAT/95 CREW SCHEDULING EXTENDED MY DUTY DAY 4 HRS AND 3.0 HRS OF BLOCK. THIS COMBINED WITH A MONTH TO MONTH TRANSITION SCHEDULE PUT ME VERY CLOSE TO 34 HRS AND 7 DAYS CONSECUTIVE WORK. AS THE DAYS WENT BY MY SCHEDULE WAS MODIFIED AGAIN ON THE FEB/SUN/95 AND ON THE FEB/TUES/95 AFTER FLYING MY ASSIGNED SCHEDULE I DISCOVERED I HAD ACCIDENTLY FLOWN MORE THAN 34 HRS IN A 7 DAY PERIOD AND BECAUSE OF THE EXTENDED DUTY I NOW DID NOT HAVE A FULL 24 HRS OFF IN THE PREVIOUS 7 DAYS. THE MISTAKE SHOULD HAVE BEEN CAUGHT BY THE COMPANY CREW SCHEDULER; BUT WAS NOT. IN FACT THE SUPVR STATED TO ME THAT THE COMPUTER WOULD NOT CATCH THESE TYPE OF INFRACTIONS. I REALIZE THAT I AM ULTIMATELY RESPONSIBLE AND FEEL IF MY SCHEDULE WAS NOT ALTERED SO MUCH I MIGHT HAVE CAUGHT THE ERROR. IN THE FUTURE I THINK THE CREW SCHEDULERS COULD BE MORE DILIGENT AND I KNOW I SHOULD HAVE BEEN. I ALSO BELIEVE OUR COMPUTER SYS SHOULD BE UPGRADED TO NOT ALLOW THESE TYPES OF SCHEDULES TRANSPIRE. I KNOW I WILL BE VERY VIGILANT AND DOCUMENT MY FLYING TO COVER MYSELF. I RELAXED AND GOT STUNG.
