GND FIRE - THE #2 ENG FIRE ON TAXI-OUT REQUIRES AN EVACUATION.
Narrative
ON TAXI OUT; AND WHILE RUNNING THE TAXI CHKLIST; WE NOTICED 3 FAULTS: 1) AMBER 'EPCU FAULT' 2) #2 ENG ANTI- ICE DISAGREE LIGHT 3) ENG #2 RMP HYD PUMPS 1 AND 2 WOULD NOT COME ON LINE. WE ATTEMPTED MANUAL RESET OF THE HYD PUMPS AND ENG ANTI-ICE. WHEN THIS WAS UNSUCCESSFUL THE FO CONTACTED MAINT FOR SUGGESTIONS. WHILE THE FO WAS ATTEMPTING TO CONTACT MAINT AN ACFT BEHIND US INFORMED GND THAT WE HAD SMOKE AND FIRE IN THE TAILPIPE OF OUR #2 ENG. THE CAPT STOPPED THE ACFT AND DIRECTED SHUTDOWN OF #2 ENG. THE ENG FIRE CHKLIST WAS USED. THE CAPT ASKED IF THE SAME ACFT COULD CONFIRM ENG FIRE WAS OUT. GND CTL SAID THAT ACFT HAD GONE; BUT ANOTHER ACFT CONFIRMED THAT THE FIRE HAD NOT EXTINGUISHED; AND HE COULD SEE SMOKE AND FIRE. WE HAD DISCHARGED AGENT 1 TO THE #2 ENG. THE PURSER CABIN ATTENDANT HAD BEEN ADVISED THAT WE MIGHT POSSIBLY HAVE A GND EVACUATION; BUT TO STANDBY. THE CAPT WAS ADVISED BY GND THAT THE FIRE DEPT COULD ALSO SEE SMOKE AND FIRE IN THE #2 ENG. THE CAPT DIRECTED THE GND EVACUATION CHKLIST; DISCHARGED AGENT 2 TO THE #2 ENG; AND GND EVACUATION WAS ACCOMPLISHED.
