ACFT EQUIP PROB. THE NOSE GEAR GREEN LIGHT REMAINED ILLUMINATED WITH THE GEAR UP AND LOCKED.

Narrative

DURING THE WKEND AND PREVIOUS WK; MY ACFT WAS CONTRACTED TO CARRY SPORT PARACHUTE JUMPERS TO ALT. THIS 'EVENT' WAS IN SEBASTIAN; FL; AT X26 ARPT. ON DEP FROM THE FIELD (APR/FRI/95 AT APPROX XA40) THE NOSE GEAR GREEN LIGHT (INDICATING GEAR DOWN) DID NOT EXTINGUISH. THE GEAR WAS CYCLED 1 TIME PROVIDING THE SAME INDICATION OF NOSE GEAR DOWN. I ELECTED TO CONTACT SKYDIVE COMPANY ON THEIR AUTH FREQ OF 122.90 AND REQUESTED A VISUAL INSPECTION BY THEIR MECH FROM THE GND. THE MECH AND A VIDEO MAN POSITIONED THEMSELVES TOWARDS THE CTR OF THE FIELD ROUGHLY 75 YARDS TOWARDS THE CTR OF THE FIELD AWAY FROM THE TXWY. WITH THE MECH AND VIDEO MAN OBSERVING I EXECUTED A SLOW SPD LOW ALT FLY-BY TO DETERMINE THE STATUS OF THE NOSE GEAR. CONFIRMATION FROM THE MECH WAS THAT THE NOSE GEAR WAS STOWED AND THE GEAR DOOR CLOSED. I COMPLETED MY REPOSITIONING FLT TO TITUSVILLE FL (X21) AND UPON INSPECTION BY A MECH IT WAS DETERMINED THAT THE NOSE GEAR MICRO SWITCH WAS OUT OF ADJUSTMENT. ADJUSTMENT TO THE SWITCH WAS COMPLETED IN TITUSVILLE. IT IS MY UNDERSTANDING; UPON LNDG AT TITUSVILLE THAT THE ARPT MGR OF THE SEBASTIAN ARPT MADE A VERBAL COMPLAINT; VIA PHONE; TO A PARACHUTE JUMPING COMPANY OWNER AND INDICATED HIS INTENTION TO FILE A WRITTEN COMPLAINT TO THE FAA REGARDING WHAT HE CONSIDERED TO BE UNSAFE FLT OPS BY A CONTRACTED JUMP ACFT. IT IS MY UNDERSTANDING THAT THE ARPT MGR AND A PARACHUTE JUMPING COMPANY OPERATOR HAVE A CONFRONTATIONAL RELATIONSHIP; AT BEST. IN ADDITION; I UNDERSTAND THAT ARPT MGR WAS DISPLEASED AND HAD COMPLAINED AT THE CITY COUNCIL MEETING THE EVENING BEFORE ABOUT THE POS I HAD LEFT MY ACFT PARKED ON THE RAMP. MY ACFT WAS PARKED IN A MANNER TO ALLOW NORMAL ACFT OPS; BUT TO MINIMIZE THE POSSIBILITY OF FOREIGN OBJECT DAMAGE INGESTION; AS THE RWY AND TXWY AREAS WERE; AND ARE; LITTERED WITH FOREIGN OBJECT DEBRIS. THE LOW SPD; LOW ALT FLY-BY WAS CONDUCTED FOR A VALID PURPOSE WITH AIR-TO-GND COM. I FEEL THAT THE PERSPECTIVE AND INTENT OF THE ARPT MGR REGARDING THIS MATTER IS NOT BASED ON VALID INFO OR FACT; BUT ON HIS UNSUPPORTIVE RELATIONSHIP WITH THE PARACHUTE JUMPING COMPANY OPERATOR.
