WHILE DEVIATING FOR TSTMS; AN ACR FLC MAY HAVE ENTERED RESTR AIRSPACE.

Narrative

WE WERE AT 10000 FT ON J-79 JUST S OF CRG. WE HAD BEEN GIVEN THIS LOWER ALT DUE TO TSTMS ALONG THE E COAST OF FLORIDA; THEREFORE WE WERE TALKING TO JAX APCH. WE HAD ASKED AND BEEN GIVEN A HDG OF ABOUT 220 DEGS TO PARALLEL A LINE OF LEVEL 3 AND 4 TSTMS. JAX HANDED US OFF TO DAB APCH APPROX 40 MI NW OF DAB. AT THIS TIME WE WERE STILL ON A COURSE TO DEVIATE AROUND WX. ABOUT 20 MI NW OF DAB; APCH CTL INFORMED US THAT WE WERE ABOUT 10 MI W OF RESTR AREA R-2907A AND R-2910. WE TOLD DAB; THAT WE WERE DEVIATING DUE TO WX; AND THAT WE COULD NOT TURN E. WE TOLD DAB APCH; THAT WE NEEDED TO CONTINUE ON OUR HDG FOR ABOUT ANOTHER 20 MI AND THEN WE COULD TURN EBOUND. WE WERE THEN INFORMED BY APCH; THAT WE WOULD PENETRATE A RESTR AREA IN 9 MI. AT THIS POINT IN TIME WE COULD NOT TURN E. THERE WAS A LINE OF LEVEL 3 AND 4 CONTOURING TSTMS JUST E OF US. THE ONLY COURSE WE COULD TAKE WAS TO REMAIN ON THE HDG THAT WE WERE ON OR TURN W. IF WE TURNED W WE WOULD HAVE PENETRATED A NUMBER OF RESTR AREAS. WE INFORMED DAB OF OUR SIT AND WERE TOLD THAT THEY UNDERSTOOD. WE CONTINUED ON OUR PRESENT HDG UNTIL WE CLRED THE STORMS; THEN TURNED E. WE ASKED DAB; IF WE HAD IN FACT PENETRATED A RESTR AREA. WE WERE TOLD; THAT THE AREAS WERE NOT DEPICTED ON THEIR EQUIP AND WERE NOT SURE; IF WE HAD ACTUALLY PENETRATED ANY RESTR AREAS. APPARENTLY; JAX APCH CTL DID NOT RELAY TO DAB APCH CTL THAT WE WERE DEVIATING DUE TO WX AND OUR HDG. DAB SHOULD HAVE INFORMED US OF OUR POS; AS IT RELATED TO THE RESTR AREAS IN A MORE TIMELY FASHION. AT THE TIME WE WERE INFORMED OF OUR POS; WE HAD ONLY 1 OPTION THAT WE COULD SAFELY ACCEPT. CONTINUE ON OUR PRESENT HDG TO AVOID THAT AREA OF TSTMS THAT WERE JUST E OF OUR COURSE.
