PLT OF AN SMT TURBOPROP OVERSHOT CLB ALT DUE TO THE WRONG ALTIMETER SETTING.

Narrative

ZKC ASSIGNED ME FL190. WHEN PASSING THROUGH 16500 FT CTR ASKED ME TO STOP AT 17000 FT. I LEVELED OFF AT 17000 FT AND CONFIRMED LEVEL. CTR SAID MY MODE C INDICATED 17900 FT. I WAS GIVING AN ALTIMETER SETTING OF 29.93; MY ALTIMETER SETTING WAS SET AT 28.93. I IMMEDIATELY DSNDED TO 17000 FT. THERE WAS CONFUSION BTWN CTR; THE OTHER ACFT AND MYSELF ABOUT WHAT ACFT WAS BEING CALLED AND ASSIGNED WHAT ALT. THE NEXT CTLR ASKED ME TO CALL CTR WHEN I LANDED. WHEN I CALLED; I WAS TOLD THAT THERE WOULD BE A PLTDEV FILED BECAUSE ACFT CLRNC WAS 600 FT VERT AND 2.96 MI HORIZ. 2 CONTRIBUTING FACTORS WERE FATIGUE AND EQUIP. I HAD FLOWN FROM NASSAU; BAHAMAS TO MIAMI; FL; BACK TO NASSAU TO WICHITA; KS; IN ANOTHER ACFT THAT DAY. ON THE COLLINS ALTIMETER IT IS HARD TO SET THE BAROMETRIC PRESSURE SETTING. THE KNOB IS VERY SENSITIVE; THE LAST 2 NUMBERS FLIP OVER AFTER YOU STOP TURNING THE KNOB. I GUESS I WAS CONCENTRATING SO MUCH ON GETTING THE LAST 2 NUMBERS RIGHT I FAILED TO CONSIDER A LARGE PRESSURE CHANGE FROM THE LAST TIME ACFT WAS FLOWN. CORRECTIVE ACTION IS TO BE MORE AWARE OF MY PHYSICAL LIMITATIONS AND TAKING MORE TIME AND CONCENTRATING BETTER ON WHAT I'M DOING.
