FLC OF AN LTT BELIEVED THAT THEIR SCHEDULED FLT TIME DUTY LIMITATIONS HAD BEEN EXCEEDED.
Narrative
DUE TO POOR WX AT CVA WE HAD YO DIVERT TO DAY -- SCHEDULING INSTRUCTED US TO FERRY OUR ACFT (PART 91) TO OUR NEXT LEG (GSO) WHEN WE RETURNED THE WX WAS STILL POOR BUT OK. OUR NEXT AND LAST LEG WAS TO GSP (THE END OF A 3 DAY TRIP). WE HAD A MESSAGE TO CONTACT SCHEDULING PRIOR TO DEP BUT THEIR COMPUTERS WERE DOWN AND WE CALLED. BUT THEY HAD NO CLUE WHY THEY LEFT A MESSAGE (TYPICAL). ANYWAY THEY TOLD US THEIR COMPUTERS HAD CRASHED (ACTUALLY THE ENTIRE NETWORK) AND TO GO ON TO GSO AS PLANNED -- WE BOARDED THE PAX AND ANOTHER FLT ATTENDANT SHOWED UP (IN ADDITION TO OUR ORIGINAL). SO HAPPILY OUR ORIGINAL FLT ATTENDANT WENT HOME. WE QUESTIONED SCHEDULING (AT 2 MINS PRIOR TO DEP) AND THEY SAID WE HAVE TO GO TO DAY? WE TOLD THEM WE HAD A FULL LOAD AND WERE READY TO GO AND THAT THERE WAS NO OTHER CREW IN SIGHT TO TAKE THE GSP FLT; SO THEY (CREW SCHEDULING) SAID FOR US TO TAKE THE GSP FLT. ON OUR WAY BACK WE DETERMINED THAT WE HAD INADVERTENTLY BEEN SCHEDULED TO FLY 8 MORE HRS IN A ROW (IT ENDED UP AT 8.8 HRS TOTAL) -- THE MISTAKE WAS OUR FAULT FOR NOT TAKING THE TIME TO ADD IN OUR HOLDING TIME AND OUR DIVERSION -- WHILE TRYING TO GET THE JOB DONE. ALSO IT WAS SCHEDULING'S FAULT FOR NOT PROPERLY DOING THEIR JOB (WHATEVER IT IS THAT THEY DO); BEING RUSHED SOMETIMES CAUSES OVERSIGHTS AND WE TRIED TO RELY ON THE COMPUTERS TO CATCH THE NUMERICAL MISTAKES WE MAKE.
