PLT LANDED GEAR UP DURING PATTERN WORK.
Narrative
ON JUL/SUN/95 I DECIDED TO FLY THE ACFT TO MAINTAIN PROFICIENCY AND CURRENCY. I INITIALLY TOOK OFF FROM LPC; CLBED TO 4000 FT MSL AND PERFORMED VARIOUS MANEUVERS FOR PRACTICE AND SOME SIGHT-SEEING ABOUT THE LCL AREAS. RETURNED TO LPC; ENTERED THE PATTERN; PERFORMED CHKLIST PROCS AND MADE A NORMAL FULL STOP LNDG. TAXIED BACK TO RWY 25 AND TOOK OFF FOR A FLT AROUND PATTERN AND CLBED TO PATTERN ALT (APPROX 900 FT MSL) AND PERFORMED GUMP CHK PROCS ON DOWNWIND AND MADE A NORMAL FULL STOP LNDG. TAXIED BACK TO RWY 25 AND TOOK OFF FOR A SECOND FLT AROUND PATTERN; CLBED TO PATTERN ALT AND PERFORMED GUMP CHK PROCS ON DOWNWIND WITH INADEQUATE VISUAL VERIFICATION OF LNDG GEAR DEPLOYMENT; APPARENTLY; AND MADE A FULL STOP LNDG ON RWY 25 AT LPC WITH GEAR UP. THE FIRST MOMENT I KNEW THERE WAS A PROB WAS WHEN THE SOUND OF SCRAPING METAL WAS HEARD. FOR A FEW SECONDS I THOUGHT THE L TIRE HAD BLOWN AND THE WHEEL WAS SCORING THE RWY SURFACE; THEN I HEARD THE PROP TICKING NOISE AND REALITY STRUCK. TOUCHDOWN WAS SLOW/SMOOTH AND DRIFT TO R OF RWY CTRLINE FOR ABOUT 600 FT AND OFF CTRLINE BY 50 FT. PROP TIP SLICES OF SURFACE WERE OBSERVED LATER AT PROGRESSIVELY SMALLER SPACING BTWN TIP STRIKES FOR ABOUT 300 FT. DAMAGE TO THE AIRPLANE WAS BELLY SKIN; ANTENNA SCRAPES; PROP BLADES/TIPS/HUB AND SUDDEN ENG STOPPAGE. NO SIGNIFICANT RWY DAMAGE. NO INJURY TO OCCUPANT OR OTHERS. CAUSE WAS FAILURE TO VERIFY LNDG GEAR DOWN AND LOCKED. GEAR SWITCH WAS NOT IN DOWN POS AFTER LNDG. GEAR OPERATED NORMALLY AFTER HOISTING OF ACFT.
