COMMUTER FLC DEV. ALTDEV ALT UNDERSHOT IN CLB. ACFT EQUIP PROB. RATE OF CLB AFFECTED. PAX COMFORT.

Narrative

HAD PICKED UP AIRPLANE WITH PRESSURIZATION MEL'ED. WAS CONCERNED ABOUT PAX COMFORT. FO WAS FLYING THIS LEG. WE DISCUSSED SIT BEFORE DEP AND DECIDED TO CLB SLOWLY; APPROX 500-700 FPM TO MINIMIZE PAX DISCOMFORT. WE NEGLECTED TO REVIEW SID WHICH SPECIFIED A XING RESTR OF 2000 FT N OF ARPT. ALSO; WE SHOULD HAVE TOLD DEP WHAT WE INTENDED TO DO; BUT DID NOT. WE DEPARTED IN THE SLOW CLB AND WHEN HANDED OVER TO DEP CTR SHE ASKED IF WE WERE GOING TO MAKE XING RESTR. WE RESPONDED THAT WE WERE HAVING PRESSURIZATION PROBS. SHE WAS PERTURBED THAT WE HADN'T INFORMED HER; THAT WE STILL HAD TO MAKE THE RESTR. SHE THEN LECTURED US AND VECTORED US AWAY FROM THE FIX; PRESUMABLY WITHOUT FURTHER INCIDENT. REASONS FOR PROC DEV (WE WERE AT ABOUT 1500 FT WHEN WE SHOULD HAVE BEEN AT 2000 FT). BEING WE HAD BEEN DOING THIS RUN FOR YRS WE WERE LULLED INTO THINKING WE KNOW IT BY HEART. WE NEGLECTED TO REVIEW IT BEFORE DEPARTING AS IS PROC. A SIMPLE REVIEW AND CALL TO ATC WHILE TAXIING OUT WOULD HAVE SOLVED THE PROB EASILY.
