AN ACR LTT HIT A DEER ON LNDG ROLLOUT.

Narrative

FLT WAS IN THE FINAL PHASE OF LNDG ROLLOUT; DECELERATING THROUGH ABOUT 50 KTS. 3 DEER ON THE RWY; 1 TO THE L; 1 IN THE CTR; AND 1 OFF TO THE R. FO SHOUTED OUT 'DEER.' I NOTED DEER IN CTR OF RWY MOVING TOWARD R AS I PROCEEDED TO GO INTO MAX REVERSE AND APPLY MAX BRAKING. I COULD NOT STEER ACFT EITHER R OR L OF CTRLINE; DUE TO DEER BOTH SIDES OF RWY. DOE OFF TO THE L STARTED TO MOVE TO L; THEN SEEMED TO HESITATE; THEN RAN TO R AS WE WERE JUST ABOUT TO PASS HER. THE DEER THEN WENT UNDER NOSE OF ACFT. NEXT WE HEARD A LOUD THUD AS DEER HIT R PROP AND EXPLODED. PROP THEN STARTED TO VIBRATE AS IT DECELERATED AND I QUICKLY; REALIZING THAT IT WAS THE R PROP; SHUT DOWN THAT ENG. ENG SLOWLY WOUND DOWN; AND WITH NO OTHER COMPLICATIONS; I WAITED ON THE RWY FOR THE COUNTY TO TOW US BACK TO THE TERMINAL; DUE TO THE FACT THAT I COULD NOT TURN ACFT AROUND ON THE RWY WITH 1 ENG; AND THE ACFT LOADED WITH 19 PAX AND ALL THEIR BAGS. WE NOTED ABOUT 8-9 DEER THAT NIGHT IN THE IMMEDIATE AREA OF RWY 10/28; 3/21 BTWN XA30 AND XD00 AM AFTER INSPECTING THE ACFT DAMAGE AND CLEANING THE RWY. MOST OF THE DEER WERE AT THE PERIMETER OF THE WOODS; 2 DEER WERE BTWN THE GRASS CLEARING; RWY 10/28 AND THE TERMINAL. ACFT DAMAGE: R PROP COMPLETELY RIPPED APART. WING LEADING EDGE (ROOT); FUSELAGE FLOW FENCE BROKEN AT ITS TRAILING EDGE; HOLE (SIZE OF YOUR FIST) IN LOWER FUSELAGE AT SAME LOCATION.
