THE ATCT LCL CTLR DID NOT PASS ALONG THE 'NO CONTACT' INFO TO DEP CTLR. TFC ADVISORY GIVEN TFC NOT SIGHTED BY CORPORATE TURBOPROP FLC. POTENTIAL CONFLICT BECAME NMAC.
Narrative
WE WERE ASSIGNED AN ALT OF 2500 FT AND L TURN TO A HDG OF 210 DEGS DEPARTING ON RWY 26L AT SUS. AFTER REACHING AN ALT OF 1500 FT FOR NOISE ABATEMENT; WE BEGAN OUR L TURN. THE TWR THEN ISSUED TFC AT OUR 11 O'CLOCK AT 2700 FT. THE PNF ACKNOWLEDGED WITH 'NO CONTACT.' THE TWR CAME BACK WITH 'CONTACT DEP ON 126.7.' THE PNF MADE CONTACT WHEREBY WE WERE ISSUED A FURTHER L TURN TO 180 DEGS; CLB TO 4000 FT. WE REALIZED THIS TURN WAS GOING TO TAKE US TOWARD THE PREVIOUSLY ISSUED TFC. THE PNF TOLD DEP WE DID NOT HAVE VISUAL CONTACT WITH THE TFC ISSUED BY THE TWR. DEP CAME BACK WITH AN IMMEDIATE L TURN TO 120 DEGS. DURING THAT TURN WE SAW THE CLBING TFC AND REALIZED HAD WE NOT MADE THAT TURN A COLLISION WAS POSSIBLE. I WOULD LIKE TO THINK THAT A VFR TFC ADVISORY MADE BY THE TWR TO AN IFR DEPARTING ACFT IS PASSED ALONG TO DEP. IF WE WOULD HAVE ACKNOWLEDGED THE TFC TO THE TWR; THEN NO FURTHER ACTION BY THE TWR WOULD HAVE BEEN NECESSARY. BUT WHEN WE SAID 'NO CONTACT' A FLAG SHOULD HAVE GONE UP TO EITHER STAY WITH THE TWR AND THEIR RADAR OR TO PASS THE TFC SITUATION TO DEP.
