Narrative
LANDED RWY 26R IN ATL. CLRED TO TAXI ACROSS RWY 26L FROM TWR. CONTACTED GND AND GOT CLRNC TO TAXI TO RAMP X. PRIOR TO ENTERING RAMP X I CONTACTED ACR A RAMP CTL AND TOLD THEM ACR B AT RAMP X NORTH WAS GOING TO GATE Y. THERE WAS SOME CONFUSION BTWN RAMP AND US. HE TOLD ME THAT HE HAD AN ACR A PLANE IN THAT GATE. I ASKED THE FE WHAT GATE ARE WE GOING TO. HE SAID GATE Y BUT AN ACR A PLANE WAS IN THERE AND WE WOULD HAVE TO WAIT. I RELAYED THAT MESSAGE TO RAMP X CTL. ACR A RAMP CTL TOLD US TO WAIT BEHIND GATE W. WHILE WE WERE WAITING I ASKED THE FE HOW LONG WE WOULD HAVE TO WAIT. HE SAID 20-25 MINS. I ASKED THE CAPT IF HE WOULD LIKE TO SHUT THE ENGS DOWN. HE REPLIED NO BECAUSE AN ACR C PLANE; AT GATE W; LOOKED LIKE IT WAS GOING TO PWR BACK. RAMP CTL THEN TOLD US THAT WE WOULD HAVE TO MOVE BECAUSE A PLANE WAS COMING TO GATE V. HE ASKED HOW LONG BEFORE OUR GATE WOULD BE OPEN. I RESPONDED 20 MINS. THEY ASKED IF WE WOULD GO TO RAMP Z (RAMP Z IS UNCTLED) AND WAIT. THE CAPT AGREED TO DO THAT. WE STARTED TAXI AND I TUNED GND IN FOR THE S SIDE. THE CAPT TOLD ME TO MONITOR GND. I TOLD HIM I WOULD. I WAS GOING TO CALL GND. HE TOLD ME NO AND JUST TO MONITOR GND. I TOLD HIM IT WAS AN ACTIVE CTLED TXWY. HE TOLD ME AGAIN NOT TO TALK TO THEM AND ONLY MONITOR. WE PROCEEDED OUT ON THE ACTIVE TXWY AND I HEARD ANOTHER ACR D CALL RAMP Z S. GND GAVE THEM PERMISSION TO TAXI ON TXWY L. WE WERE ON TXWY L. I TOLD THE CAPT THAT ACR D WAS CLRED TO TAXI WHERE WE WERE. THE ACR D SAW US AND STOPPED. WE PASSED HIM FROM HIS NOSE R-L AND TURNED INTO RAMP Z AFTER PASSING HIM. GND THEN ASKED THEM WHO JUST TAXIED BY THEM. THEY IDENTED US AND I TOLD THE CAPT. HIS RESPONSE WAS 'BLANK' THEM WHO CARES. WE WAITED 10 MINS AND WENT TO GATE U ON RAMP Z. CONTRIBUTING FACTORS: THE CAPT FROSTED BECAUSE OF THE DELAY GETTING A GATE. LACK OF CRM. LACK OF PROFESSIONAL LEADERSHIP OF THE CAPT. SOLUTION: MORE EMPHASIS ON CRM IN TRAINING AND RECURRENT TRAINING.
