CORPORATE LTT RECEIVES COMPLAINT FROM TRACON REGARDING VFR FLT.

Narrative

DEPARTED ASHEVILLE ARPT; NC; VFR; WX CLR; VISIBILITY 50 MI PLUS; NO CLOUDS; FOR ATLANTA DEKALB-PEACHTREE ARPT; VFR IN A LEARJET 35A; 14500 FT MSL. DEPARTED DEKALB- PEACHTREE ARPT; RETURN TRIP TO ASHEVILLE; NC; VFR 15500 FT MSL; SAME DAY TURN AROUND. ARRIVED ASHEVILLE; ATLANTA CALLED RAISING HELL ABOUT VFR FLT. OTHER ACFT OPPOSITE DIRECTION IFR IN VFR CONDITIONS WITH TCASII COMPLAINING ABOUT VFR FLT WHICH IS A BUNCH OF BULLSHIT. VFR IS VFR AND IFR IS IFR. THIS FLT WAS CONDUCTED BY STRICT RULES AND REG BY THE BOOK. THERE IS ONLY 500 FT SEPARATION BTWN VFR AND IFR; AND WE SAW ALL ACFT COMING AND GOING. CALLBACK CONVERSATION WITH RPTR REVEALED THE FOLLOWING INFO: RPTR STATES THEY DEPART PDK WITH THE TERMINAL CHART IN FRONT OF THEM AND REMAINED BENEATH THE CLASS B UNTIL OUTSIDE THE PERIMETER AT WHICH TIME THEY CLBED UP TO ALT. RPTR'S FEELING IS THAT ATC IS NOT HAPPY WITH AN ACFT AT HIGH ALT AND NOT TALKING TO THEM. THEY WERE AT A PROPER ALT FOR VFR FLT. THEY NEVER SAW THE OTHER ACFT. THIS IS A CORPORATE ACFT AND THEY MAKE THE SAME FLT SEVERAL TIMES A WK. THIS IS A SHORT FLT AND THEY DO NOT FILE IFR DUE TO ADDED TIME INVOLVED. THERE HAS BEEN NO FURTHER WORD FROM THE FAA.
