ACR STRIKES AN AREA OF HVY SNOW BUILDUP DURING TAXI IN AND HAS TO BE TOWED TO THE GATE. THE #2 ENG FLAMED OUT DUE TO SNOW INGESTION.

Narrative

LANDED AT BDL ON RWY 6; EXITED AT TXWY H; WAS CLRED VIA TXWY E TO GATE. TAXIING ON TXWY S TOWARDS GATE AT RAMP AREA; NUMEROUS SNOW VEHICLES TO THE L OF MY POS AND AN OPPOSITE DIRECTION B737. I WAS FOLLOWING THE INTERMITTENT TAXI LINE; COVERED BY SNOW AND ICE; WHEN AT AROUND 10 KTS TAXI SPD THE ACFT BEGAN DRIFTING TO THE R BECAUSE OF INCREASED DRAG ON THE R MAIN GEAR AND CAME TO A STOP WHEN STUCK IN SNOW. WE WERE STILL ON THE HARD SURFACE AND ON TAXI LINE WHEN THIS OCCURRED. THE ARPT SNOW PLOWS WERE CLRING THE RAMPS AND PUSHING THE SNOW ON THE TAXI LINE ALONG TXWY S. I WAS BEING VERY CAREFUL BECAUSE OF THE SLIPPERY CONDITIONS AND NUMEROUS SNOW REMOVAL EQUIP; BUT BECAUSE OF THE TIME OF DAY AND OVCST CONDITIONS EVERYTHING WAS JUST A WHITEOUT EVEN WITH THE TAXI LIGHT ON. WE NEVER SAW THE SNOW BUILT UP ON THE TXWY UNTIL IT WAS TOO LATE. OTHER ACFT LNDG ON RWY 6 WERE CLRED VIA TXWY C WHICH WOULD HAVE BEEN BETTER FOR US AND PERHAPS BETTER LIGHTED. AS A RESULT; #2 ENG FODDED OUT BECAUSE OF SNOW INGESTION AND WE HAD TO BE DUG OUT AND TOWED TO THE GATE.
