THE RPTR WOULD NOT DEFER TO THE REQUEST OF THE TRACON TO VOLUNTARILY DEFER TO A LOW FUEL ACFT BECAUSE OF LOW OIL PRESSURE ON HIS ENG AND DETERIORATING WX.

Narrative

NY APCH CTL (Z) WAS VECTORING ME FOR A VOR APCH TO RWY 29 AT BDR. ATIS WAS 2400 FT AND WINDS AROUND 300 DEGS AT 15 KTS. TEMP 20 DEGS. THEN ATIS CHANGED TO 3/4 MI VISIBILITY IN BLOWING SNOW. ZNY ASKED ME HOW MUCH FUEL I HAD; I SAID 2 HRS. ZNY SAID THEY WOULD BE TAKING ME OUT OF SEQUENCE FOR AN ACFT THAT WAS LOW ON FUEL. I RESPONDED; NEGATIVE I HAD LOW OIL PRESSURE. ZNY ASKED IF I WAS DECLARING AN EMER AND I RESPONDED; NEGATIVE. ZNY CLRED ME FOR THE VOR RWY 29 APCH AND I LANDED. I HAD ARPT IN SIGHT AT 5 MI. WHILE BEING VECTORED FOR THIS APCH; MY CONSIDERATIONS WERE AS FOLLOWS: 1) LOW OIL PRESSURE. 2) BDR ATIS VISIBILITY WENT FROM 1 TO 3/4 MI. I PLANNED TO MAKE A LOOK/SEE AND DIVERT IF NECESSARY. I MAINTAINED 140 IAS TO NOT DELAY ANY ACFT BEHIND ME UNTIL RWY IN SIGHT ON FINAL. 3) I HAD BEEN FLYING IN SNOW FROM S OF JFK TO BDR WITH WESTERLY WINDS TO PLUS OR MINUS 30 KTS AND DID NOT WANT TO DIVERT WITH 2 HRS FUEL INTO HEADWINDS AND UNKNOWN FIELD CONDITIONS FROM THE SNOW STORM A FEW DAYS PREVIOUS. I FIGURED I WOULD HAVE TO DIVERT TO THE SW. 4) WX FORECASTS FOR THIS FLT TO BDR WERE FOR LIGHT SNOW FLURRIES; TEMPS IN THE 20'S. I EXPECTED NO ICING PROBS AND HAD NONE. AFTER LNDG I REQUESTED TO TAXI TO FBO. TWR TOLD ME TO PARK AT THE MAIN TERMINAL; SOMEONE WANTED TO TALK TO ME. I DID SO AND THE FIRE TRUCKS WERE THERE AND THE FIREMAN WANTED MY NAME; ADDRESS; CERTIFICATE NUMBER; ETC. I COMPLIED. 10-15 MINS AFTER I HAD PARKED AT THE GATE A LIGHT TWIN AMPHIBIAN PARKED BESIDE ME. I ASSUMED IT TO BE THE ACFT WHO HAD THE LOW FUEL. I DID NOT TALK TO ANYONE ELSE AND TAXIED TO THE FBO ON THE OTHER SIDE OF THE ARPT. WHY COULDN'T THEY HAVE TALKED TO ME THERE? I DON'T FEEL I DELAYED THE ACFT BEHIND ME WITH LOW FUEL. I NEVER HEARD HIM ON THE NY APCH CTL FREQ I WAS ON. MY GUESS IS HE WAS 10-15 MINS BEHIND ME. THE NEXT DAY I HAD AN A&P CHK OIL PRESSURE PROB. QUANTITY WAS AT 3 QUARTS AND THERE WAS AN OIL LEAK.
