FLC LANDS AT ALTERNATE DUE TO WX; DELAYS; AND LACK OF FUEL TO HOLD LONGER. THE FLC TAKES OFF AFTER GETTING FUEL WITHOUT CLRING OPEN ITEMS WITH MAINT IN THE LOGBOOK. ALSO; THERE WERE SPECIAL FUELING PROCS WHICH WERE SUPPOSED TO TAKE PLACE BECAUSE PEOPLE HANDLING HAD NOT PREVIOUSLY BEEN QUALIFIED IN FUELING THIS TYPE ACFT.

Narrative

I WAS GIVING IOE TO A NEW CAPT ON A FLT FROM ORD TO FRA. FLT TIME WAS PLANNED AT 8:28. UPON ARR IN THE FRA AIRSPACE WE WERE GIVEN A HOLD OF APPROX 45 MINS. AFTER EVALUATING OUR FUEL SIT WE DECIDED THAT WE SHOULD GO TO OUR ALTERNATE (CGN) WHICH WAS CLOSE TO WHERE WE WERE HOLDING. AFTER ARR AT CGN DISPATCH SENT US A RELEASE AND THE PEOPLE HANDLING US FUELED THE AIRPLANE. WE STARTED THE ENGS AND DEPARTED FOR FRA. 2 ERRORS TOOK PLACE WHICH MADE OUR DEP ILLEGAL. WE HAD 2 CABIN WRITE-UPS THAT WE HAD ENTERED IN THE LOGBOOK AND SENT VIA ACARS TO ALERT MAINT. ONE WAS A LIGHT BULB REPLACEMENT; AND THE OTHER WAS A DIRTY CARPET IN A GALLEY THAT A FLT ATTENDANT WANTED CLEANED. NEITHER ITEMS WERE CRITICAL. WE ARE REQUIRED TO CLR THESE ITEMS WITH MAINT PER COMPANY PROC PRIOR TO DEPARTING ANY STATION. THE RELIEF FO HAD ENTERED THE ITEMS IN THE LOGBOOK AND I WAS AWARE OF THE ENTRIES. THE FO TOOK CARE OF FILLING OUT THE LOGBOOK AT CGN AND DIDN'T REMIND ME OF THE ENTRIES AND I FORGOT ABOUT THE FACT THAT WE HAD ENTERED ANYTHING; SO WE DEPARTED WITHOUT CLRING THESE ITEMS. LATER I FOUND OUT THAT HAD I CALLED OUR MAINT PEOPLE I WOULD HAVE BEEN INFORMED THAT SOME SPECIAL FUELING PROCS HAD TO TAKE PLACE BECAUSE THE PEOPLE HANDLING OUR ACFT AT THE DIVERSION STATION HAD NOT PREVIOUSLY BEEN QUALIFIED IN FUELING OUR TYPE OF ACFT. IN THE FUTURE I WILL PUT KIND OF A FLAG IN THE LOGBOOK AS A REMINDER THAT WE HAVE ENTERED MAINT ITEMS THAT NEED TO BE CLRED. I WAS VERY BUSY IN AN UNUSUAL SIT; HAVING A NEW CAPT WITH ME AND WAS GETTING TIRED; WHICH I BELIEVE LED ME TO OVERLOOKING THINGS THAT SHOULD HAVE BEEN DONE.
