FLT DEPARTED WITHOUT PDC. FLC FATIGUE CONTRIBUTED PLUS NO MEANS OF INSURING RECEIPT OF PDC PRIOR TO FLT.

Narrative

WHEN TOLD TO SWITCH TO DEP I SAW THAT THE DEP FREQ WAS NOT PRESELECTED AS NORMAL. WHEN I LOOKED ON THE SPARE COM HEAD IT WAS NOT THERE EITHER. NEXT I LOOKED AT THE XPONDER AND SAW 0000 FOR SQUAWK. I KNEW THEN THE PDC CLRNC HAD NOT BEEN RECEIVED. I GOT THE FREQ FROM TWR FOR DEP AND CALLED THEM AS I GOT THE PDC CLRNC AND PUT IN THE XPONDER CODE. THE DEP REVIEW AT THE GATE COVERS THE CLRNC. I VERIFIED THE FILED RTE WITH THE STORED FMS RTE BUT DID NOT VERIFY WITH THE PDC. FLYING THE SAME ARPT AND RTE WAS FORTUNATE IN OUR CASE. THIS WAS DAY 6 OUT OF 7 AND THE 28TH TKOF. AN ACFT CHANGE HAD JUST OCCURRED AND WE RAN TO GET FOOD FOR LUNCH. WE HAD EATEN AT XX45 WHEN WE LEFT THE HOTEL. I THINK FATIGUE HELPED CONTRIBUTE TO THIS OVERSIGHT AS DID HURRYING TO GET ALL THINGS DONE INCLUDING FOOD IN A SHORT STOPOVER. I WAS VERY UPSET AT THIS MISS. AS A YOUNG AVIATOR I THOUGHT I COULD FLY ENDLESSLY AND TIRELESSLY. NOW I AM GETTING OLDER AND SEE WHAT MY FELLOW SENIOR CAPTS WERE TALKING ABOUT FATIGUE. IT IS TIME TO LOOK HARD AT THE FLT TIME AND DUTY REGS AND MAKE THEM PROTECT ALL IN THE FLYING ENVIRONMENT OF THE 90'S.
