WAKE TURB UPSET. GAR.

Narrative

DURING LNDG; ENCOUNTERED WAKE TURB FROM PRECEDING HVY B767; WHICH ROLLED MY ACFT 40-50 DEGS TO R AT 100 FT AGL. PERFORMED A GAR. TWR INSTRUCTIONS HEARD WERE; TURN R TO 090 DEGS MAINTAIN 3000 FT. CLBING THROUGH 2400 FT FO ASKED JFK TWR TO CONFIRM ALT. TWR SAID 2000 FT. RETURNED TO 2000 FT SWITCHED TO DEP. RESEQUENCED; LANDED WITHOUT FURTHER INCIDENT. CALLBACK CONVERSATION WITH RPTR REVEALED THE FOLLOWING INFO: RPTR CLAIMS THAT JFK APCH CTL CONTINUES TO SPACE ACFT MUCH TOO CLOSE; PARTICULARLY THE REGIONAL LIGHTER ACFT SPACED TOO CLOSE TO HVY ACFT. ANOTHER PROB WITH JFK ATC IS THE LACK OF TA'S AND POTENTIAL WAKE ADVISORIES. RPTR SAYS THAT 3 DAYS AFTER THIS INCIDENT HE WAS VECTORED ON APCH 3 MI BEHIND A B757 AND WHEN HE COMPLAINED ABOUT THE SPACING; APCH CTL VECTORED HIM WAY OUT AND BEHIND ALL OTHER TFC. WHEN LNDG HE CONTACTED THE JFK APCH CTL SUPVR WHO WAS NO HELP. THE ONLY THING HE COULD DO TO POSSIBLY PREVENT A SIMILAR OCCURRENCE WOULD BE TO STAY VERY HIGH ON GS; BUT THAT WOULD NOT ONLY BE AGAINST SOP; IT SHOULDN'T BE THE PLT'S RESPONSIBILITY TO STAY OUT OF PRECEDING ACFT'S WAKE. WHEN PAX WERE DEPLANING AFTER THE WAKE INCIDENT AND GAR; 1 PAX SAID THEY BETTER CLEAN THE GRASS STAINS OFF THE WINGTIP. RPTR SAYS THAT IF THEY CONTINUE WITH THE INADEQUATE SEPARATION; EVENTUALLY SOMEBODY WILL GET KILLED.
