Narrative
ON A FLT FROM JRB (WALL STREET) TO HPN I FLEW UP THE HUDSON RIVER TO HPN UNDER NO CTL EXCEPT FOR HPN TWR. WHEN I LANDED AT HPN I WAS TOLD TO CALL LGA CLASS B CTL. WHEN I CALLED LGA I WAS TOLD THAT I WANDERED INTO CLASS B AIRSPACE. I TOLD THEM THAT I DID NOT. I ALSO TOLD LGA IT WAS THE SECOND TIME ONE OF OUR ACFT WERE QUESTIONED ABOUT AIRSPACE IN THE LAST WK. I WAS FIRM AND LGA TOLD ME THEY MAY HAVE AN ALIGNMENT PROB. I HEARD THE CTLR IN THE BACKGROUND SAYING I BUSTED HIS AIRSPACE. I HAVE BEEN FLYING THE NYC AIRSPACE FOR 20 YRS; PLUS I HAVE DME AND AN ARGUS MOVING MAP. I HAVE 3 THINGS TO TELL ME WHERE I AM. LGA ONLY HAS ONE. I REALIZE YOU ARE IN BUSINESS FOR SAFETY; NOT TO PROTECT PLTS; BUT IF LGA HAS A RADAR PROB AND THEY SPEND TIME TRACKING ACFT AND GETTING UPSET; I THINK THAT IS A SAFETY ISSUE. I VOLUNTEERED TO GIVE THEIR AIRSPACE A WIDER BERTH; BUT OUR COMPANY HAS BEEN FLYING AROUND NYC FOR 37 YRS AND NEVER HAD A PROB. CALLBACK CONVERSATION WITH RPTR REVEALED THE FOLLOWING INFO: THE RPTR STATED THE A109A HELI IS THE AGUSTA. THE RPTR STATED HE WAS VISUALLY OVER THE RIVER. THIS WOULD PUT HIM E OF THE TETERBORO CLASS D AIRSPACE AND W OF THE LGA CLASS B TO THE SURFACE AIRSPACE. IN ADDITION HE HAD HIS MOVING MAP DISPLAY.
