SF34 FLC DISCOVERED ACFT DAMAGE DURING POSTFLT AT THE END OF THEIR TRIP. A BAGGAGE BELT LOADER HAD HIT THE SIDE OF THE ACFT EARLIER IN THE DAY; BUT THE FLC HAD INSPECTED AND NOT FOUND ANY DAMAGE AT THAT TIME. ACFT DAMAGED.

Narrative

AFTER LNDG IN PHL; POSTFLT INSPECTION FOUND A DENT TO THE R REAR FUSELAGE OF THE ACFT. UP TO THIS POINT THE FLT OPERATED NORMALLY. EARLIER THAT DAY; BEFORE WE DEPARTED PHL FOR JFK; WE THOUGHT WE FELT A BUMP TO THE ACFT. SUSPECTED THE BAGGAGE BELT LOADER AND FOUND IT AGAINST THE ACFT. INSPECTED FOR DAMAGE; NONE NOTED. FLT OPERATED WITHOUT INCIDENT UNTIL RETURN TRIP BACK TO PHL. SUPPLEMENTAL INFO FROM ACN 329568: UPON ARR AT THE GATE AT PHL; THE FO OF THE OUTBOUND CREW AND MYSELF FOUND A DENT WITH A 3 INCH TEAR IN FUSELAGE ON THE R SIDE OF ACFT DURING MY POSTFLT AND HIS PREFLT. WE INFORMED OUR MAINT CTL OF PROB AND THE ACFT HAS TO BE FERRIED AFTER AN INSPECTION. CAPT AND I FEEL RAMP WORKER THAT HIT ACFT WAS NEGLIGENT BY NOT RPTING INCIDENT TO CREW. BECAUSE OF HIS ACTIONS; THE SAFETY OF THE FLT; PAX AND CREW WAS IN JEOPARDY. IT SEEMS THAT IN THIS INCIDENT THE RAMPER WAS MORE CONCERNED ABOUT HIS EMPLOYMENT THAN ABOUT SAFETY. I MIGHT NOT BE AS QUICK TO TRUST OTHERS' PRE AND POSTFLTS IF THERE IS ANY QUESTION IN MY MIND.
