Narrative
WHILE INSTRUCTING; I WAS PRACTICING LNDGS AT A (FORMERLY) UNCTLED ARPT 18 MI FROM OUR HOME ARPT AT ABOUT XA00 AM. WHILE MONITORING THE UNICOM FREQ; WE HEARD ANOTHER ACFT RECEIVING AN ARPT ADVISORY; AND FOLLOWED THEM INTO THE TFC PATTERN. AFTER ONE FULL-STOP AND TAXI-BACK; I NOTICED ANOTHER ACFT CROSS THE RWY WITHOUT MAKING ANY RADIO CALLS. ON DOWNWIND; I OBSERVED ANOTHER ACFT FLYING THROUGH THE DOWNWIND LEG ON A PRACTICE INST MISSED APCH. ON BASE; THE ACFT ON THE GND DEPARTED; AGAIN WITHOUT A RADIO CALL. I ASKED UNICOM FOR A RADIO CHK TO WHICH I RECEIVED A 'LOUD AND CLR.' ON SHORT FINAL; I DID OBSERVE A MAN STANDING BESIDE THE TXWY WAVING FURIOUSLY; BUT CONTINUED WITH A TOUCH AND GO. ON LIFT-OFF; WE RECEIVED A MESSAGE THAT A NEW TWR WAS OPEN AND TO SWITCH TO THE NEW FREQ. WE CONTINUED THE TRAINING FLT WITHOUT INCIDENT. NOTE: DESPITE MAKING 2-3 POS RPTS ON THE UNICOM/OLD CTAF; THE UNICOM OPERATOR DID NOT ADVISE US ABOUT THE TWR. THE NEW SECTIONAL AND TERMINAL AREA CHART DEPICT THE AREA WITH A BLUE SEGMENTED CIRCLE (CLASS D); BUT WITH A MAGENTA ARPT SYMBOL AND NO TWR FREQ. DUE TO THE EARLY HR AND EXCELLENT WX; I DID NOT OBTAIN A WX BRIEFING WHICH WOULD HAVE INCLUDED A NOTAM INDICATING A NFCT WHICH OPENED AT XA30 AM LCL.
