PLT OF AN SMT SINGLE ENG TURBOPROP WAS FORCED TO MAKE AN EMER GEAR UP LNDG AFTER THE R LNDG GEAR FAILED TO EXTEND FOR LNDG.

Narrative

SHORTLY AFTER TKOF AT RICE LAKE; WI (RPD); AN AMBER GEAR DOOR WARNING LIGHT DIDN'T EXTINGUISH AFTER WE CYCLED THE GEAR UP; INDICATING A GEAR DOOR AJAR. MULTIPLE NORMAL AND MANUAL EXTENSIONS WERE ATTEMPTED BUT ONLY THE L MAIN AND NOSEGEAR WOULD INDICATE DOWN AND LOCKED. SEVERAL LOW PASSES WERE MADE AT RPD FOR VISUAL CONFIRMATION THAT R MAIN GEAR WOULDN'T EXTEND. I ASKED GND FACILITY TO CALL FOR SUGGESTIONS IN ADDITION TO EMER PROCS (POH) ALREADY PERFORMED. G-LOADING THE GEAR IN VARIOUS CONFIGNS WERE DISCUSSED AND ATTEMPTED WITH NO RESULTS. EAU WAS SELECTED AS A SUITABLE ARPT FOR A GEAR UP LNDG BECAUSE OF ITS EMER EQUIP; RWY LENGTH; FAVORABLE WINDS AND LOW TFC VOLUMES. EMER CREWS WERE NOTIFIED AT LEAST 1 1/2 HRS BEFORE OUR ETA. OUR MAINT FACILITY WAS NOTIFIED AND THEY PROCEEDED US TO EAU TO AID IN PROPER RECOVERY OF ACFT AFTER LNDG. ZMP WAS NOTIFIED AND WE SQUAWKED 7700 AS WE ORBITED 20 MI NW OF EAU TO REDUCE FUEL VOLUMES. WITH 15 MINS OF FUEL REMAINING; I NOTIFIED GND CREWS; ANNOUNCED OUR PATTERN LEGS AND EXECUTED EMER GEAR UP LNDG WITH MINIMAL DAMAGE TO ACFT. A BROKEN FORWARD INBOARD GEAR DOOR HINGE PROVED TO BE THE CAUSE OF AN AJAR GEAR DOOR DISABLING THE GEAR FROM NORMAL AND EMER GEAR EXTENSIONS.
