THE FLC OF AN MD80 EXPERIENCED A SEVERE WINDSHEAR ENCOUNTER DURING DEP. A VERBAL EXCHANGE ENSUED BTWN THE CTLR AND THE CAPT AFTER THE CAPT TOLD THE CTLR TO STOP DEPS. THE ACR FLT WAS DIVERTED FOR MAINT AS A RESULT OF THE NECESSARY FLC PROC OF FIREWALLING THE ENGS DURING WINDSHEAR ESCAPE.

Narrative
AFTER A LENGTHY GND DELAY WE WERE CLRED ONTO RWY. ATC WAS PLANNING 10 MI SPACING. WIND WAS PRETTY STEADY 330-340 DEGS AT 18-20 KTS. CLRED FOR TKOF AND WE ENCOUNTERED SEVERE WINDSHEAR ON TKOF. DURING LATTER PART OF RECOVERY; I CALLED DFW TWR AND TOLD THEM OF OUR ENCOUNTER WITH SEVERE WINDSHEAR AND ADDED THAT THEY SHOULD STOP DEPS. THE FEMALE CTLR SNAPPED BACK SOMETHING LIKE; 'YOU CAN'T STOP THE DEPS; THEY ARE GOING OFF ONE AT A TIME 10 MI APART!' I AGAIN TOLD HER WE HAD ENCOUNTERED SEVERE WINDSHEAR AND SHE SHOULD BE AWARE AND HALT DEPS. SHE HANDED US OFF TO DEP CTL. I TOLD THIS CTLR SAME THING AND HE SAID HE WAS GOING TO NOTIFY HIS SUPVR TO RELAY OUR RPT. WE HAD FIREWALLED THE ENGS AND AFTER TALKING TO TUL MAINT; DIVERTED TO TUL. SUPPLEMENTAL INFO FROM ACN 333079: THE PROB BEING RPTED HERE IS VERY SIMPLE AND DIRECT -- THE TWR IGNORED OUR EXPERIENCE. THEY ARE SO ACCUSTOMED TO ROUTINE LLWS WARNINGS THAT THEY DO NOT UNDERSTAND THE SEVERITY OF AN ENCOUNTER THAT WOULD COMPEL A CAPT TO SAY; 'STOP ALL DEPS!'
