THE RPTR DEPARTED LGB FOR O26 INTENDING TO AVOID SPECIAL USE AIRSPACES. INADVERTENTLY HE INTRUDED ON EL MONTE CLASS D; LAX CLASS B; BUR CLASS C; AND EDW RESTR AIRSPACE. HE ADMITS HE SHOULD HAVE PREPLANNED HIS FLT MORE CAREFULLY.

Narrative

I DEPARTED LGB ARPT FOR O26 ARPT. I FLEW UNDER LAX'S CLASS B VEIL AT 1800 FT MSL. I WAS UNDER PART OF THE CLASS B THAT HAS A 2700 FT MSL FLOOR AND NEAR PART THAT HAS A 2000 FT MSL FLOOR. I KNEW I WAS FINE WITH MY ALT AND LOCATION BECAUSE I KNEW THE 605 AND 110 FREEWAYS I WAS USING AS VISUAL CUES. I ALSO HAD LAX VOR IN MY RNAV AND LORAN. I ALSO HAD BURBANK'S ARPT IN THE LORAN FOR THE CLASS C. I USED THE RNAV AND LORAN FOR DISTANCE REFS TO HELP KEEP ME OUT OF THE CLASS B AND C. AS I APCHED THE NORTHERN BOUNDARY OF THE CLASS B AND BEGAN TO CLB I NOTICED THE CLASS D FOR EMT ARPT ON MY CHART. QUICKLY I TUNED IN EMT ON THE LORAN AND SAW THAT I WAS 3.3 MI FROM EMT. CLRLY INSIDE THEIR CLASS D WITHOUT PERMISSION. I QUICKLY TURNED AWAY FROM EMT; TOWARD THE W. BEING ANXIOUS TO GET OUT OF THE CLASS D I MAY HAVE; BUT AM NOT CERTAIN; 'CLIPPED' THE EDGE OF THE CLASS B AND ALSO WENT INTO BUR'S CLASS C BY PERHAPS 1/4 MI DURING THE MANEUVERING AND CLBING. I CONTINUED CLBING TO GET OVER THE MOUNTAINS AND GOT FLT FOLLOWING FROM JOSHUA APCH. I FLEW OVER PMD ARPT AND MONITORED PMD VOR TO FLY 330 DEG RADIAL TO KEEP ME OUT OF EDWARD'S RESTR AREA (R-2515). THOUGH I MONITORED THE VOR RADIAL I MAY HAVE 'CAUGHT THE CORNER' OF THE RESTR AREA DUE TO MY SLOWNESS IN INTERCEPTING THE RADIAL. I DON'T BELIEVE I WENT INTO THE RESTR AREA; BUT AM NOT CERTAIN THAT I DIDN'T. THE PROBS AT THE EL MONTE ARPT WERE DUE TO MY NOT BEING THOROUGH IN MY FLT PLANNING AND ANALYSIS OF THE CHART OVER MY AREA OF FLT. I HAVE NOT FLOWN OVER THIS RTE BEFORE AND DID NOT CHK THE CHART THOROUGHLY. THE CLASS D CAUGHT ME BY SURPRISE. LATER; UPON ANALYZING MY ERRORS IT FELT AS THOUGH I HAD BEEN IN A 'PINBALL MACHINE;' BOUNCING BACK AND FORTH; TO AND FRO; TO AVOID THE CLASS D; THEN B; THEN C. POOR PREFLT PLANNING. THE CLASS D SHOULD NOT HAVE BEEN A SURPRISE TO ME. THE PROB IN 'CLIPPING' THE R-2515 WAS DUE TO NOT KNOWING; FOR SURE; MY EXACT POS AND TRYING TO FLY TOO CLOSE TO AVOID ADDED MILEAGE. I APOLOGIZE TO ANY CTLRS; OR OTHERS; THAT MAY HAVE BEEN AFFECTED. THEY DO A GREAT JOB AND I DON'T WANT TO COMPLICATE THEIR WORK.
