AFTER EXITING RWY AT TXWY A6; RPTR HAD TO MAKE A 135 DEG L TURN TO ENTER TXWY A. BEING IN A LARGE; HVY ACFT; RPTR TURNED TOO SHARPLY AND HIT TXWY LIGHTS. ARPT PORT AUTH DISCOVERED DAMAGE TO BOTH THE TXWY LIGHTS AND A SIGN FROM JET BLAST.

Narrative

AFTER LNDG ON RWY 28R I EXITED THE RWY AT TXWY A6; A HIGH SPD TXWY. TO GET TO OUR FACILITY I HAD TO MAKE L TURN ON TXWY A (THE PARALLEL) TO PROCEED EBOUND WHICH IS APPROX 135 DEG TURN. I HAVE USED THIS TAXI RTE AT LEAST 10 TIMES IN THE LAST 12 MONTHS. I PROCEEDED TO THE RAMP WITH EVERYTHING APPEARING NORMAL. THE TWR (GND CTL) HAD NO COMMENT. I USED AN EXAGGERATED OVERSHOOT OF THE TXWY A CTRLINE BECAUSE OF THE 135 DEG TURN AND THAT THERE IS NO FILLET BTWN TXWYS A6 AND A. THE NEXT DAY THE PDX PORT AUTH INFORMED OUR RAMP MGR THAT I HAD DAMAGED 2 TXWY LIGHTS WITH THE L MAIN LNDG GEAR AND A SIGN WITH JET BLAST. IN TRYING TO RECONSTRUCT THE INCIDENT IN MY MIND THE ONLY THING I CAN THINK I DID DIFFERENTLY THAN IN THE PAST WAS POSSIBLY NOT PROCEEDING DOWN TXWY A6 FAR ENOUGH BEFORE BEGINNING THE L TURN. POSSIBLY I HAD BECOME COMPLACENT BECAUSE I HAVE USED THIS RTE SO OFTEN IN THE PAST. IN THE FUTURE I WILL USE THE NEXT TXWY WHICH ONLY REQUIRES A 90 DEG TURN. I KNOW MY OVERSHOOT OF THE TXWY A CTRLINE WAS MORE THAN ADEQUATE. AS FAR AS THE MINOR JET BLAST DAMAGE TO THE SIGN; I DID NOT EXCEED ACFT FLT MANUAL AUTH TAXI PWR. I WAS TOLD THAT OTHER ACFT HAVE DAMAGED THIS SAME SIGN IN THE RECENT PAST; POSSIBLY IT COULD BE REPOSITIONED TO TAKE IT OUT OF THE PATH OF THE JET BLAST.
