SMA PLT DEPARTS CLASS D AIRSPACE ONLY TO ENTER CLASS B WITHOUT CLRNC.

Narrative

I WAS CLRED AS FILED FROM PDK TO AUO AND WAS NOT GIVEN AN ALT; HDG; OR SQUAWK CODE IN THE CLRNC FROM PDK'S CLASS D AIRSPACE. AFTER TKOF I WAS TOLD TO PROCEED ON COURSE BY PDK TWR. MY COURSE AS FILED TOOK ME DIRECTLY THROUGH ATL'S CLASS B AIRSPACE AND IN THE PATH OF THE DEP END OF ATL. I WAS NOT INFORMED BY PDK THAT I WAS ABOUT TO ENTER CLASS B AIRSPACE WHICH LED ME TO BELIEVE THAT I WAS STILL CLR BECAUSE I WAS USING PILOTAGE TO NAV. WHEN I NOTICED I WAS GETTING VERY CLOSE TO ATL I ASKED IF I COULD GO AHEAD AND CONTACT ATL DEP AND TWR SAID YES. AS I CONTACTED ATL; I KNEW I WAS TOO CLOSE WHEN I NOTICED AN ATR72 PASS DIRECTLY BELOW ME AT 3200 FT MSL. I WAS IMMEDIATELY VECTORED OUT OF THE AIRSPACE AND WAS INFORMED OF THE VIOLATION ONCE I WAS CLR. I COMPLETELY UNDERSTAND THAT AS PIC IT IS MY RESPONSIBILITY TO STAY CLR OF A CLASS B AIRSPACE WITHOUT A CLRNC. I DO FEEL; HOWEVER; THAT THERE ARE A FEW THINGS THAT CAN BE DONE TO AVOID THIS TYPE OF SIT IN THE FUTURE. FIRST; I FEEL THAT I COULD HAVE BEEN GIVEN AN ALT AND HDG TO MAINTAIN FROM PDK TO KEEP ME CLR OF THE CLASS B. SECOND; I THINK THAT MORE PLANNING SHOULD HAVE BEEN DONE ON MY PART TO DECIDE HOW TO PROPERLY DEPART PDK WITHOUT PENETRATING THE ATL CLASS B AIRSPACE.
