ON A VOR RWY 7 INST APCH TO SKY MANOR ARPT. SAW THE ARPT LATE; IN CONDITIONS CLOSE TO MINIMUMS. THOUGHT I COULD MAKE THE RWY ON A SHORT APCH. PAX DISTR AND BAD EXECUTION CAUSED ME TO TURN LATE TO FINAL. INITIATED A GAR OVER A HOUSE NEXT TO THE RWY; WHEN LATE TURN TO FINAL COMPLETED. INITIATED MISSED APCH INCORRECTLY. FLEW RECIPROCAL OF MISSED APCH COURSE ON HSI. TOO BUSY THINKING ABOUT ABORTED LNDG AND THINKING ABOUT WHERE TO GO. NOTICED MISSED APCH HDG MISTAKE ABOUT SAME TIME AS ATC (ABE APCH) AND CORRECTED. DID NOT ATTEMPT ANOTHER APCH AT SKY MANOR. DIVERTED TO ALLENTOWN. BELIEVED I STAYED WITHIN 10 NM RADIUS OF FAF ON MISSED APCH; BUT MAYBE NOT. ATTEMPTED LNDG BECAUSE I ALREADY MISSED AT A DIFFERENT ARPT AND WANTED TO GET HOME. A PLT DEPARTING SKY MANOR 20 MINS EARLIER RPTED THAT ARPT WAS ABOVE MINIMUMS ON ATC FREQ. FIRST I HAD ATTEMPTED LNDG STRAIGHT INTO RWY 7; BUT I WAS NOT IN POS FOR A STRAIGHT IN LNDG. THE LNDG ATTEMPT WAS A CIRCLING APCH LNDG; BUT I STARTED BELOW CIRCLING MINIMUMS.
