AN ACR F100 BLEW ALL 4 MAIN TIRES WHEN ITS GND SENSING SWITCHES FAILED. THERE WAS NO EICAS WARNING. ACFT EQUIP PROBS GND SENSING SWITCHES FAILED; NO EICAS MESSAGE. ACFT DAMAGE 4 BLOWN TIRES ONLY.

Narrative

AFTER TOUCHDOWN ON RWY 17 DURING OUR LNDG ROLL I HAD NO BRAKES; THE THRUST REVERSERS WOULD NOT DEPLOY; AND THE LIFT DUMPERS DID NOT DEPLOY. I SAID TO THE FO WE HAD NO BRAKES. HE CONFIRMED THAT; THEN HE SELECTED THE ANTI-SKID SWITCH TO OFF. THE BRAKES WERE THEN EFFECTIVE; BUT ALL 4 MAIN TIRES WERE BLOWN ON ROLLOUT. ACFT STOPPED SAFELY ON RWY. NO INJURIES; THE FLT ATTENDANTS SAID IT SEEMED LIKE A NORMAL LNDG. CALLBACK CONVERSATION WITH RPTR REVEALED THE FOLLOWING INFO: THE RPTR FLIES THE FOKKER F100. BOTH HIS DEP AND ARR RWYS WERE CONTAMINATED WITH WATER; BUT THE ACFT DID NOT SPEND MUCH TIME IN FREEZING AIR; WHICH MIGHT HAVE CAUSED SWITCH FAILURE. MECHS AND AN FAA PERSON FOUND THAT BOTH GND SENSING SWITCHES WERE BAD. THEY HAVE BEEN SENT OFF FOR ANALYSIS AND THE REASON FOR FAILURE HAS NOT YET BEEN FOUND. THE RPTR UNDERSTANDS THAT THIS IS THE THIRD INSTANCE OF THIS FAILURE WITH FOKKER. HIS ACR NOW TRAINS ITS CREWS TO BE AWARE OF THE POSSIBILITY OF THIS FAILURE AND THE RPTR'S SOLUTION. TO COMPOUND THE PROB; THERE WAS NO EICAS MESSAGE WARNING THE CREW THAT THE SWITCHES HAD FAILED. THERE HAS BEEN NO FAA ACTION.
