FLC OF A B767 FAILED TO MEET THE INTERMEDIATE XING ALTS DURING A STAR ARR ROUTING AFTER BEING CLRED FOR AN ILS APCH. THE GS WAS FOLLOWED BY THE FMC AUTOPLT APCH COUPLER PRIOR TO THE FINAL APCH FIX WHICH DID NOT HAVE THE INTERMEDIATE FIXES PROGRAMMED. THEREFORE; THE ACFT FOLLOWED ONLY THE GS PRIOR TO THE OM FIX RESULTING IN MISSING IMMEDIATE FIXES.

FLC OF A B767 FAILED TO MEET THE INTERMEDIATE XING ALTS DURING A STAR ARR ROUTING AFTER BEING CLRED FOR AN ILS APCH. THE GS WAS FOLLOWED BY THE FMC AUTOPLT APCH COUPLER PRIOR TO THE FINAL APCH FIX WHICH DID NOT HAVE THE INTERMEDIATE FIXES PROGRAMMED. THEREFORE; THE ACFT FOLLOWED ONLY THE GS PRIOR TO THE OM FIX RESULTING IN MISSING IMMEDIATE FIXES.

Narrative

ARRIVING IN THE LAX TERMINAL AREA FOR A LNDG AT LAX I AS A NEW COPLT WAS FLYING THE ACFT AND WAS PROCEEDING ALONG THE CIVET 1 ARR. I WAS USING THE AUTOPLT WITH VNAV SELECTED AND ALL THE APPROPRIATE XING ALTS ENTERED IN THE FMC. WE WERE ANTICIPATING THE ILS TO RWY 25L AND THE CAPT HAD TUNED AND IDENTED IT ON THE CTR ILS RECEIVER BUT WE DELAYED SELECTING IT IN THE FMC TO AVOID LOSING OUR FMC VNAV ALTS ON THE CIVET 1 ARR. AT OR NEAR THE BONEZ INTXN WE WERE CLRED FOR THE ILS RWY 25L APCH. WE SELECTED IT IN THE FMC AND FOUND OURSELVES ON THE LOC AND GS SO THE CAPT SELECTED THE APCH MODE ON THE AUTOPLT FOR ME AND THE ACFT CAPTURED THE LOC AND GS. THE ACFT THEN PROCEEDED INBOUND ON THE APCH FOLLOWING THE GS DOWN TO A NORMAL LNDG. THE PROB THAT MAY HAVE OCCURRED WAS IN THE INTERMEDIATE XING ALTS ON THE APCH. THE XING FIXES DID NOT APPEAR ON THE FMC'S APCH AND ONCE CLRED FOR THE APCH ON THE GS I HAD DISCARDED THE INTERMEDIATE FIXES FORM MY TRAIN OF THOUGHT FOCUSING ON THE LOC/GS ASPECT OF THE APCH. WHETHER IT WAS MY LACK OF EXPERIENCE IN THE ACFT AND ITS FMC OR MY UNFAMILIARITY WITH THIS APCH INTO LAX IT SEEMS AS THOUGH I WAS LULLED INTO A WRONG SENSE OF SITUATIONAL AWARENESS AND MAY HAVE INADVERTENTLY CROSSED BELOW AN ALT RESTR ON THE APCH.
