CAPT OF A WDB OVERSHOT THE RWY HOLD POS WHICH RESULTED IN ANOTHER ACFT SENT AROUND BY TWR.
Narrative
WE PUSHED OFF OF GATE AT CLEVELAND ARPT. IT WAS A VERY SHORT TAXI TO TKOF ON RWY 23L. WE WERE INSTRUCTED TO HOLD SHORT OF RWY 28 AT TXWY J. RWY 28 WAS BEING USED BY SMALL ACFT FOR DEPS. WE MADE A SHARP L TURN AND HELD SHORT; AT TXWY J; OFF RWY 28. AFTER AN ACFT DEPARTED ON RWY 28; WE WERE INSTRUCTED TO TAXI ONTO RWY 28 BUT HOLD SHORT OF RWY 23L. THIS WAS MY FIRST TIME INTO CLEVELAND AND WAS UNFAMILIAR WITH THE ARPT. I RELEASED THE PARKING BRAKE AND STARTED TO TAXI ONTO RWY 28. I DIDN'T REALIZE IT WAS SUCH A SHORT DISTANCE TO THE EDGE OF RWY 23L. I ACCIDENTALLY GOT THE NOSE OF THE ACFT OUT OVER THE EDGE OF RWY 23L. A B737 WAS ON A 1 1/2 MI FINAL FOR RWY 23L AND WAS INSTRUCTED TO GAR. DUE TO THE SHORT TAXI AFTER PUSHING OFF THE GATE MY OTHER 2 CREW MEMBERS WERE BUSY PREPARING THE FLT DECK FOR TKOF. THEY DIDN'T REALIZE HOW FAR I HAD TAXIED. MY FE WAS VERY EXPERIENCED INTO CLEVELAND AND SAID THAT THIS HAD HAPPENED BEFORE. MY SUGGESTION FOR THE FUTURE WOULD BE THAT ALL ACFT BE HELD AT TXWY J SHORT OF RWY 28 EVEN THOUGH RWY 23L IS THE DEP RWY. WHAT I MEAN IS THAT THERE WOULD BE NO CONFUSION ABOUT HOLDING AT TXWY J VERSUS HOLDING SHORT ON ANOTHER RWY. THERE WAS NO DANGER OF AN ACCIDENT OR INCIDENT IN MY CASE THANK GOODNESS.
