Narrative
AFTER COMPLETING NORMAL TKOF CHKLIST TKOF ROLL WAS INITIATED. AS TKOF PWR WAS BEING SET BY THE FO AT APPROX 50 KTS; A LOSS OF TORQUE WAS NOTED IN THE #2 ENG. FO CALLED THE ABORT AND THE CAPT EXECUTED THE ABORT PROC. ATC WAS NOTIFIED AND NO ASSISTANCE WAS REQUESTED. AS ACFT WAS TURNED OFF RWY 8L AT TXWY D #2 FIRE INDICATORS/WARNINGS NOTED; ACFT WAS STOPPED; AN EMER WAS DECLARED; AND EQUIP WAS REQUESTED. #2 CL WAS F/FSO #2 'T' HANDLE PULLED AND #1 SQUIB SHOT. CHKLIST WAS REVIEWED; FIRE DID NOT GO OUT; EVAC WAS CONSIDERED; #1 CL F/FSO #1 'T' PULLED; APPROX 30 SECONDS AFTER SQUIB #1; SQUIB #2 SHOT. APPROX 10-15 SECONDS FIRE INDICATIONS WENT OUT. DOOR WAS OPENED BUT FLT ATTENDANT KEPT PAX IN SEATS. HNL EQUIP VERIFIED NO FIRE; ACFT WAS TOWED TO RAMP; PAX DEPLANED AND RE-ACCOMMODATED. SUPPLEMENTAL INFO FROM ACN 342246: 30 SECONDS AFTER #2 ENG HAD BEEN SHUT DOWN AND FIRST FIRE AGENT DISCHARGED; A SECOND AGENT WAS DISCHARGED DUE TO CONTINUING FIRE WARNING INDICATIONS. EVAC WAS CONSIDERED. 5-10 SECONDS AFTER THE SECOND AGENT WAS FIRED; ENG FIRE INDICATIONS EXTINGUISHED. EVAC WAS DETERMINED UNNECESSARY WITH VERIFICATION BY FIRE CREWS THAT NO CONDITIONS EXISTED. AIRPLANE WAS TOWED TO GATE WHERE PAX DEPLANED AND RE-ACCOMMODATED.
