Narrative

FLT (SPECIAL SERVICE) DAY-CLT. CTR CLRED US DIRECT TO CLT AT ABOUT FLM; FREQ CHANGE. NEW CTLR GAVE US A XING RESTR AT SHINE; FO'S LEG. HE PUT SHINE AND THE XING RESTR AT SHINE IN THE FMC WHILE I ADVISED CTR THAT WE HAD PREVIOUSLY BEEN CLRED TO AND WERE PROCEEDING TO CLT. HE CAME BACK WITH A XING RESTR AT 40 MI NW OF CLT. I READ IT BACK. FO TOOK SHINE AND THAT RESTR OUT OF THE FMC AND BUILT THE 40 NM FIX AND RESTR INTO THE FMC. I THEN WENT OFF FREQ TO VHF #2 TO GET CLT ATIS. AS WE WERE LEVELING AT 11000 FT; CTR ASKED US OUR ALT AND I RESPONDED 11000 FT. CTR ADVISED US WE HAD ONLY BEEN CLRED TO 13000 FT. DON'T KNOW IF I HAD PREVIOUSLY READ BACK 13000 FT OR NOT. THE SHINE ARR TO CLT HAS AN 11000 FT XING RESTR AT SHINE FOR S OPS. CONFUSION MAY HAVE OCCURRED FROM PROGRAMMING SHINE AT 11000 FT IN THE FMC AND THEN TAKING IT OUT AND BUILDING THE 40 DME FIX AND PROGRAMMING 11000 FT THERE ALSO. SUPPLEMENTAL INFO FROM ACN 342640: CTLR CAME BACK 'DID YOU NOT RECALL I CHANGED YOUR XING TO 13000 FT?' IF WE WERE RECLRED TO CROSS 40 NM CLT AT 13000 FT INSTEAD OF 11000 FT; I NEVER HEARD IT.
