CESSNA 310 HAD NOSE GEAR FAIL TO FULLY EXTEND AND IT COLLAPSED UPON LNDG.
Narrative
I WAS PREPARING THE ACFT TO LAND AT FPR ENTERING EXTENDED R BASE LEG TFC. SLOWED THE ACFT TO ITS RECOMMENDED OPERATING SPDS TO EXTEND THE LNDG GEAR. NOTICED I DID NOT HAVE 3 GREEN POS LIGHTS ON THE CONSOLE. VERIFIED THAT THE NOSE GEAR POS LIGHT WAS INDEED WORKING; ALSO VERIFIED THROUGH A PWR REDUCTION FOR THE SOUND OF THE GEAR HORN WHICH DID COME ON. I THEN RECYCLED THE LNDG GEAR SEVERAL TIMES ALSO VERIFYING WITH THE FORT PIERCE CTL TWR STAFF VISUAL CONFIRMATION OF NOSE GEAR POS EACH TIME. FINALLY CONDUCTED AN EMER MANUAL GEAR EXTENSION PER OPERATOR'S HANDBOOK FOR CORRECTNESS. VERIFIED WITH THE TWR AGAIN AND ALSO UTILIZED A LCL FIELD A&P MECH OFFERING HIS VISUAL EXPERTISE AND ADVICE. STILL HAD THE ABSENT NOSE GEAR LIGHT AND NOSE GEAR NOT FULLY EXTENDED. PREPARED AND EXECUTED A PWR-ON SOFT FIELD TYPE OF LNDG ON RWY 09 AT FPR. UPON TOUCH DOWN CUT PWR; MIXTURE CTLS. HELD NOSE OFF THROUGH THE ELEVATOR CTL TILL IT COLLAPSED. TURNED OFF BOTH FUEL SELECTORS AND ALL SWITCHES; EVACED ACFT. NO INJURIES TO RPT.
