Narrative
I WAS INSTRUCTED TO TAXI TO INTXN M FOR A RWY 32 DEP. SINCE MY PLANE IS SMALL AND THE RWYS AND TXWYS ARE SIZED FOR HVY JETS; I WAS TAXIING ALONG THE R EDGE OF A VERY WIDE TXWY. WHEN I ARRIVED AT INTXN M I DID NOT SEE THE HOLD LINES. THEY WRE PARTIALLY COVERED BY THIN SNOW AND ICE AND WERE FADED. I LOOKED ABOUT AND SAW (ONCE I LOOKED FAR TO MY L) THAT I WAS PAST THE LINE BY ABOUT A PLANE LENGTH. I IMMEDIATELY DID A 360 DEG TURN AND LINED UP BEHIND THE HOLD LINE. THE GND CTL NEVER SAID A WORD; BUT I AM SENDING THIS FORM JUST IN CASE. TO PREVENT FUTURE PROBS WHEN SNOW COVER IS A FACTOR; I PLAN ON ASKING GND CTL TO CALL MY POSITION FOR THE HOLD LINE OR INFORM THEM I AM NOT SURE WHERE IT IS. ALSO; IF I TAXI IN THE CTR OF THE VERY WIDE TXWYS; THE SNOW REMOVAL IS BETTER AND ONE CAN SEE THE LINES BETTER THAN OFF ON THE EDGE. ANOTHER FACTOR WAS THAT I HAVE NOT TAXIED TO INTXN M OFTEN IN THE LAST FEW YRS AND I WAS SOMEWHAT UNFAMILIAR WITH THE RELATIVE POS OF THE HOLD LINE. I'VE BEEN ON FLOATS AND WAS BASED AT ANOTHER ARPT LAST WINTER.
