A TRACON CTLR WORKING DEP IS DISTRACTED AND VECTORS THE WRONG ACFT INTO ADJACENT POS AIRSPACE RESULTING IN LTSS.

Narrative

ACR X DEPARTING ATL RWY 8R HDG 070 DEGS. ACR Y WAS UPWIND ON DEP HDG 350 DEGS. ZTL CALLED TO POINT OUT AN E120 (ACR Z) WHICH WAS DSNDING IN MY N AIRSPACE DUE TO A PROB. I TURNED TO CALL A SUPVR AND EXPLAIN THE E120 POSSIBLE PROB. AT THIS TIME ACR X CALLED ON DEP HDG 070 DEGS OFF THE RWY. I MADE 2 XMISSIONS TO OTHER DEPARTING TFC AND THOUGHT I HAD ISSUED A 270 DEG HDG TO ACR Y WHO WAS IN THE WBOUND TURN AREA FOR W DEP. IT APPEARS I MISSPOKE MYSELF AND ISSUED ACR X THE WBOUND TURN. ACR X TURNED OFF THE RWY TO A 280 DEG HDG AND ENTERED AIRSPACE WHICH I DID NOT OWN. I HAD NOT EVEN ISSUED ACR X RADAR CONTACT AS HE WAS STILL CLOSE ENOUGH TO THE RADAR MAIN BANG AND I DO NOT REMEMBER SEEING HIS ARTS DATA BLOCK APPEAR. WHEN THE ARTS III DATA ACQUIRED ON ACR X AND I OBSERVED HIM IN AIRSPACE I DID NOT HAVE CTL; I QUICK LOOKED OTHER TFC AND ISSUED ALT/HDGS TO OBTAIN VISUAL SEPARATION FROM OTHER TFC AND AVOID OTHER TFC. MY ATTN WAS DIVERTED AS A RESULT OF ZTL CALLING ABOUT THE E120 AND THE RECENT EVENTS OF THE E120 ACCIDENT IN DTW AND THE ACCIDENT OF THE E120 IN ATL IN 1995. MY CALLING OF THE AREA SUPVR TO INFORM HIM OF THE E120 PROB DIVERTED MY ATTN AND PROBABLY AFFECTED MY READBACK/HEARBACK ABILITY.
